KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world! (S1 E1) - Review

Greetings!

Being a teenager who loves games is probably today's norm. Most of today's teen know a game or two because of their access to mobile devices which makes it easy to install some games and then if you get bored you uninstall it and then find another game. In the case of "Konosuba - God's blessing on this wonderful world!" I never expected to see some aspects of games being used as part of the screenplay which is a clever idea to add spice to the anime.

Warning: Spoilers ahead

Plot

"Konosuba - God's blessing on this wonderful world!" tells the story of a teen boy who was introduced as a gamer and died saving a self-proclaimed goddess. After he dies he finds himself talking to a goddess who offers him to choose between heaven and reincarnation. He chose reincarnation and became a hero in the world where he was reincarnated.

Borrowing from games

I like it when "Konosuba - God's blessing on this wonderful world!" adds some aspects of games and in the case of the protagonist Kazuma Satou I never expected that this episode's plot is heavily based on games, especially the "RPG" games. Kazuma Satou can be seen saying "RPG" multiple times in this episode.

Cute and neat female characters

Most of the time I am always looking forward to the style of animation while I am watching. In the case of "KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world!" I noticed that some of the female characters are cute and neatly animated especially their hair (the detail is heavy but still looked cute and neat).

Funny dialogue and acting

I think the aspects of anime that I am always drawn to are the dialogue and the acting. When the dialogue is funny and then it combines with hilarious acting they easily hook me up and "KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world!" has a lot of them on this first episode.

Conclusion

All in all "KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world! (S1 E1)" is an exciting, fun, hilarious, and entertaining episode. It has a lively vibe that can make you awake just by watching. The creator/s' borrowing from aspects of games is a clever idea that adds appeal to this episode which I think anyone who is going to watch this episode will make them instantly like it.

Sort:

One of my favorite Isekai animes for very obvious reasons. From this first episode you can see that the work is a complete reference to the clichés of other Isekais and breaks the mold with a very funny plot that is totally different from the one we know.

What I like is the level of comedy that the anime has, which can even be bizarre at times. In this episode, practically everything we see in typical popular Isekai stories does not happen here.

While the animation is excellent and very pleasant to watch, I see that it also has an approach to "Fan Service" which is another reference to the Isekais by sexualizing their female characters. Of course, I like Aqua as a character since she is completely incompetent and very funny, personally.

I hope I don't have a problem saying that last bit here. 😅

Same here, aside from the sexy nature of the anime, I am always looking forward to the comedy scenes. And yes the animation is excellent even if the characters have fewer details. I also like Aqua, her character is hilarious since she has below-average intellect.
