I usually don't pick up the Anime stories which has the highschool plots unless they are in the horror or supernatural content category. And so I decided to take on this anime purely because it's into the supernatural horror category. It's one of the ignored anime which had the potential to become some TV series or the movie if handled well with the story and the dark vibes.
So here's the review for the Corpse Party: Tortured Souls aka Bougyakusareta Tamashii no Jukyou.

Story
There are many animes with the disturbing story content. Hell girl and the elfen lied were some of the anime which had a lot of disturbing content. However the corpse party is something different. It has it's own reasons for the creepy vibes. Also the thing about some of the fictional content you would be finding with this much depth in the writing. You would be pretty much impressed if you are into the horror content.

Here bunch of the highschool kids decides to call off spirits but accidently get into another dimension where the people who died in their highschool are haunting the place. And the pure survival supernatural horror game begins. Sometimes you may ask yourself, why? And then what now? And you just keep on seeing the damaged domino in the process.
Interesting thing about this story is that you have very limited content. Like this series only 4 episodes. And within those they do everything to keep you impressed with the story. For horror fiction this much short and the gripping. I loved the way it was written and also I think it's one of the good anime that you can check out for the story.
Art & Animation
A lot of anime users don't watch for the graphics and the art. Maybe I am the only fanatic who is more focused on how the art is executed in the anime. The reason being I am kind of impressed with the Japanese stories that have the depth with the art. Especially in the horror content, you would be impressed with some of the art which is not easy to find any other genre. The level of detailing even in this anime is pretty good.
Story Execution
So let's talk about the content within. What you should expect and what is worth keeping an eye on. First let me say that whoever has written this and then done the job of the executing the series into four episodes. I think they have done pretty good job for story. It's not easy to find something like that these days.

You are going to see characters getting their facial expression changing all the time. You will see fear and panic all over. There is no hint of happiness left in them. And all they do is pure survival and trying to find way out of their actions outcome. Like you will see bunch of highschool kids getting killed one after another. Yeah it's that much bad which they have put very beautifully without trying to make it sound like serious yet fear and panic in it.
Expect violence and also expect the ending that would put you in mode of thinking where you would be pretty much surprised what just I watched. And the end feeling of such type of the anime is indeed interesting.
Is it worth binge watching?
It's pretty short for the series. Like 4 episodes. What could wrong? Besides if you are reading this review and if you are into the Horror then 4 episode is nothing. If you have access to any streaming site where you could watch it, then definitely go for it. You won't regret it if you are horror and supernatural fan who don't mind the violence and disturbing stuff.
Good Parts in Story
My personal preference is the graphics and the fast paced story. Though I'd say they have put up the disturbing horror anime in very beautiful way. I think that's the best part of the series. I'd say this definitely deserves extended TV show type series. But that is just my opinion.
Bad Parts in Story
I'd say many people won't be liking the scenario where the kids in highschool are just getting slaughtered like some slasher movie characters. I think this was kind of like that you may notice in a perspective. But if you can watch a different horror take from anime perspective then yes story has it's bad parts.
If you like horror and want to try some sort of supernatural slasher and a bit of psychologically twisted stuff. I'd say then this series is worth watching. And this series is super small so you can easily complete it in few episodes too.
I'd definitely recommend this anime if you like horror and twisted stuff.
