(ESP-ENG) Las joyas del anime en los años 90 // The jewels of anime in the 90s.

Para entrar en contexto y lo digo sin problemas yo nací en los años 80 por lo que mi infancia/adolescencia fue en los noventa, es decir, ya yo veía todas estas comiquitas cuando tenía 8-9 y 10 años. La verdad es que me marcaron bastante porque eso era todos los días a las 5 de la tarde después de hacer las tareas del colegio cuando me sentaba frente al televisor a ver todos estos animes.

To get into context and I say it without problems, I was born in the 80s so my childhood / adolescence was in the 90s, that is, I already saw all these comics when I was 8-9 and 10 years old. The truth is that they marked me a lot because that was every day at 5 in the afternoon after doing my homework when I sat in front of the television to watch all these animes.

Fueron varios que tuve la oportunidad de ver: Los super campeones, Dragon Ball Z, Evangelion y Slam Dunk. Hay otra que la voy a dejar para hacer una publicación aparte, Los caballeros del Zodiaco, que en mi opinión ha sido de los mejores animes que he visto. Pero centrándonos en las 4 de hoy la verdad es que hay variedad, dos de deportes y 2 de con historias y combates legendarios, sin más hablemos un poco.

There were several that I had the opportunity to see: The super champions, Dragon Ball Z, Evangelion and Slam Dunk. There is another one that I am going to leave to make a separate publication, The Knights of the Zodiac, which in my opinion has been one of the best anime I have seen. But focusing on the 4 of today the truth is that there is variety, two of sports and 2 of with stories and legendary battles, without further ado, let's talk a bit.

Miren, el básquet no es de los deportes que más siga pero la verdad es que este anime es una joya. Imagínense un combate cualquiera de Dragon Ball pero llevado a la cancha en un partido, así más o menos eran las vibras y el nivel de emoción que representaba ver esto, además de la profundidad en su historia como ya es costumbre en la mayoría de los anime.

Look, basketball is not one of the sports that I follow the most, but the truth is that this anime is a gem. Imagine any Dragon Ball combat but taken to the court in a game, that's more or less the vibes and the level of emotion that seeing this represented, in addition to the depth in its story as is customary in most anime.

Esta es la historia de este pelirrojo estudiante de preparatoria que se caracteriza por tener una gran cantidad de rechazos en lo que al amor se refiere. Todo cambia hasta que conoce a una joven, Haruko Akagi, que le encanta el baloncesto lo cual hace Sakuragi busque inscribirse en el equipo de su secundaria.

This is the story of this red-haired high school student who is characterized by having a lot of rejections when it comes to love. Everything changes until he meets a young woman, Haruko Akagi, who loves basketball which makes Sakuragi seek to join her high school team.

Pueden pensar que la trama sea algo simple pero la verdad es no lo es porque el atractivo de este anime son sus personajes siendo cada uno de ellos bastantes diferentes y únicos. La mayoría de la trama se lleva a cabo, como dije en la cancha, en cada partido y es allí en donde vamos conociendo a cada uno; es impresionante que con cada juego podemos ser capaces de sentir las emociones y los deseos de ganar de cada miembro del equipo.

You may think that the plot is something simple but the truth is it is not because the attraction of this anime is its characters, each of them being quite different and unique. Most of the plot takes place, as I said on the court, in each game and it is there that we get to know each one; It is impressive that with each game we are able to feel the emotions and the desire to win of each member of the team.

Sus personajes principales, de izquierda a derecha: Rukawa, Ryota Miyagi, Sakuragi, Akagi el capitán y Mitsui. Todos con personalidades bastantes marcadas, unos más carismáticos que otros pero en esencia un gran equipo. Es muy parecido a los Super Campeones en el sentido que sus partidos son muy largos pero aún así se los recomiendo ampliamente, estoy seguro que muchos no lo llegaron a ver pero si tienen la oportunidad háganlo.

Its main characters, from left to right: Rukawa, Ryota Miyagi, Sakuragi, Akagi the captain and Mitsui. All with quite marked personalities, some more charismatic than others but essentially a great team. It is very similar to the Super Champions in the sense that their matches are very long but still I highly recommend them, I am sure that many did not get to see it but if they have the opportunity, do it.

Cambiamos radicalmente de genero y caemos en una las joyas de aquellos años. Lo que me impresiona es que que a pesar de los años que han transcurrido todavía este anime sigue siendo de culto a niveles inimaginables, llegando a ser una de las referencias más importantes. Con Evangelion pasó que por un tiempo la pasaban en la televisión pero aparentemente se dieron cuenta que esta no era especialmente para niños y la dejaron de transmitir.

We radically change gender and fall into one of the jewels of those years. What impresses me is that despite the years that have passed, this anime is still cult at unimaginable levels, becoming one of the most important references. With Evangelion it happened that for a while they were on television but apparently they realized that this was not especially for children and they stopped broadcasting it.

The EVA!

Recuerdo que desde el primer capitulo ya Evangelion venía a dejarnos las cosas claras de como iba a ser su línea, una llena de violencia y con unos personajes bastante peculiares. Ahora, este anime se trata se centra en un presente alterno donde unas criaturas gigantescas y muy misteriosas llamadas "Angeles" ponen al limite de la extinción a toda la raza humana siendo ahí donde aparecen una serie de robots humanizados llamados "EVA" cono la última defensa para las personas. Hay que decir que estos robots son piloteados por los mismos humanos que puedan conectar emocionalmente con ellos.

I remember that from the first chapter Evangelion already came to make things clear to us about how his line was going to be, one full of violence and with some quite peculiar characters. Now, this anime is about an alternate present where some gigantic and very mysterious creatures called "Angels" put the entire human race to the limit of extinction, being there where a series of humanized robots called "EVA" appear as the last defense for people. It must be said that these robots are piloted by the same humans who can connect emotionally with them.

Un detalle importante es que todos estos humanos encargados de estos robots no era adultos, eran simples adolescentes que tenían la gran responsabilidad de liberar batallas épicas para salvar a la humanidad.

An important detail is that all these humans in charge of these robots were not adults, they were simple adolescents who had the great responsibility of unleashing epic battles to save humanity.

Hablar totalmente de Evangelion sería muy extenso pero en resumidas cuentas es una serie con una estética impecable, un guion y dirección magistral pero sobre todo la animación era realmente su fuerte, era lo que atrapaba a la gente. Sin olvidar a los personajes que al ser apenas unos jóvenes con todas sus inseguridades y angustias eran capaces de llevar a cabo combates de otro mundo.

Talking totally about Evangelion would be very extensive but in short it is a series with impeccable aesthetics, a masterful script and direction but above all the animation was really its strength, it was what caught people. Without forgetting the characters who, being just young people with all their insecurities and anguish, were capable of carrying out otherworldly battles.

Como era de esperarse Dragon Ball Z no podía faltar. Esta es la serie predilecta de la mayoría de las personas por el gran impacto que causó y que creo sigue causando casi 20 años después, en lo personal me declaro fanático sin ninguna duda de este anime el cual junto a los Caballeros del Zodiaco son los mejores de aquella época.

As expected, Dragon Ball Z could not be absent. This is the favorite series of most of the people for the great impact it caused and that I believe continues to cause almost 20 years later, personally I declare myself a fan without any doubt of this anime which together with the Knights of the Zodiac are the best of that time.

Honestamente creo que todos sabemos de que se trata pero para resumirlo un poco es la historia de Goku, un Saiyajin del planeta Vegeta, que fue mandado a la tierra antes de que su planeta fuese destruido. Es aquí en la tierra donde va conociendo a sus amigos Krilin, Vegeta, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Yamcha y donde hace su familia con una mujer llamada Milk y su hijo Gohan.

I honestly think we all know what it is about but to sum it up a bit is the story of Goku, a Saiyan from the planet Vegeta, who was sent to earth before his planet was destroyed. It is here on earth where he meets his friends Krillin, Vegeta, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Yamcha and where he makes his family with a woman named Milk and her son Gohan.

Dragon Ball Z cuenta con tres sagas importantes en toda su historia. La primera es la de freezer que se lleva a cabo en el planeta Namek, hogar de Piccolo, en la cual la batalla es por encontrar las esferas del dragón de dicho planeta. Freezer las quiere para ser inmortal y Goku tiene que impedirlo. Lo mas relevante de aquella batalla es que fue ahí donde Goku se transforma por primera vez en Super Saiyajin. Freezer muere al explotar el planeta siendo derrotado por Goku.

Dragon Ball Z has three important sagas throughout its history. The first is the freeza that takes place on the planet Namek, Piccolo's home, in which the battle is to find the dragon balls of that planet. Freeza wants them to be immortal and Goku has to stop him. The most relevant thing about that battle is that it was there that Goku was transformed into a Super Saiyan for the first time. Freeza dies when the planet explodes, being defeated by Goku.

En la segunda saga, se pelea contra Cell, un androide que posee células de todos los guerreros quien fue creado por un científico. La misión de Cell es acabar con Goku y toda la vida en el planeta. Es una larga batalla a través de un torneo donde lo mas importante que sucede es la transformación de Gohan a Super Saiyajin 2 y la muerte de Goku. Cell pierde gracias Gohan y el famoso Kamehameha.

In the second saga, he fights against Cell, an android that possesses cells from all the warriors who was created by a scientist. Cell's mission is to kill Goku and all life on the planet. It is a long battle through a tournament where the most important thing that happens is the transformation of Gohan to Super Saiyan 2 and the death of Goku. Cell loses thanks to Gohan and the famous Kamehameha.

Y la ultima es la de Majin Boo. Un ser creado a base de maldad. Fue sin dudas el oponente más poderoso al que se enfrentó Goku ya que lo llevó al limite teniendo que transformarse en Super Saiyajin 3. Majin Boo es derrotado por una Henkidama con la energía de todo el universo.

And the last one is Majin Boo's. A being created out of evil. He was undoubtedly the most powerful opponent that Goku faced as he pushed him to the limit having to transform into Super Saiyan 3. Majin Boo is defeated by a Henkidama with the energy of the entire universe.

Por ultimo llegamos a los Super Campeones, ese anime de futbol que todos disfrutábamos al máximo. Recuerdo que lo más icónico e esta serie era lo eterno que eran los partidos, literalmente podían durar 3-4 capítulos, con una cancha que nunca se acababa ya que corrían y corrían y parecía que no había un final.

Finally we get to the Super Champions, that soccer anime that we all enjoyed to the fullest. I remember that the most iconic thing in this series was how eternal the matches were, they could literally last 3-4 episodes, with a field that never ended as they ran and ran and it seemed that there was no end.

Pero a pesar de esos detalles, no era para nada mala al contario fue uno de los mejores animes que han existido. La historia es tan simple como que se centra en la historia de un equipo de futbol liderados por Oliver Atom y Benji Price desde que eran pequeños hasta que terminan en la selección nacional de Japón.

But despite those details, it was not bad at all, on the contrary, it was one of the best anime that ever existed. The story is as simple as it centers on the history of a soccer team led by Oliver Atom and Benji Price from when they were little until they ended up on the Japan national team.

Esta junto a Slam Dunk son de las que más nostalgia me generan porque tengo mucho tiempo sin ver un solo capitulo, más de 25 años para ser exactos. Aun así las considero de las mejores y de las que más disfruté en mi infancia, si tienen la oportunidad de revisarlas y verlas les recomiendo que lo hagan, son animes muy buenos que marcaron un antes y un después.

This together with Slam Dunk are the ones that generate the most nostalgia because I have not seen a single episode for a long time, more than 25 years to be exact. Even so, I consider them one of the best and the ones that I enjoyed the most in my childhood, if you have the opportunity to review them and see them I recommend that you do so, they are very good animes that marked a before and after.
