Testing pastel shades

Hola a todos, muy buenas noches. En el arte estamos en constante aprendizaje, siempre hay algo nuevo que aplicar o renovar, hace poco estuve pensando que no tenia un dibujo con tonos pasteles (creo) y me puse como reto el día de hoy a hacer un retrato con estos colores, no fue para nada sencillo, no estoy acostumbrada a estos tonos y me costo un poco aplicarlos para dar una forma correcta a la estructura del rostro, de hecho creo que en la nariz sobre todo en donde se puede notar mayor defectos, sin embargo, me gusto igualmente además me ha ayudado a aprender algo nuevo, me sentí cómoda a pesar de ser algo poco común en mi ya que elegí colores que me transmiten paz como son los morados, azules y rosas, siento que hay una armonía muy bonita entre estos colores que hace que el retrato a pesar de ser sencillo se vea con un toque mágico, estoy muy satisfecha con el resultado, espero que les guste.

In art we are constantly learning, there is always something new to apply or renew, recently I was thinking that I did not have a drawing with pastel tones (I think) and I set myself as a challenge today to make a portrait with these colors, it was not easy at all, I'm not used to these tones and it cost me a little to apply them to give a correct shape to the structure of the face, in fact I think that in the nose especially where you can notice more defects, However, I liked it anyway and it has also helped me to learn something new, I felt comfortable despite being something uncommon in me since I chose colors that transmit me peace such as purples, blues and pinks, I feel that there is a very nice harmony between these colors that makes the portrait despite being simple looks with a magical touch, I am very satisfied with the result, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realice un boceto de un rostro, quería un rostro con muy cercano para poder explorar mejor esta nueva paleta de colores, empecé aplicando un tono rosa de base y luego añadí las sombras y luces, hice un ajuste en la siguiente capa ya que no me convencía las sombras que había colocado en la imagen 2, entonces decidí colocar la mayoría de partes oscuras en claras, seguí añadiendo colores entre rosas y morados formando todo el rostro, en otra capa empecé a mezclar los colores entre sí dejando un acabado más limpio, después de tener la piel lista empecé a pintar el cabello con un tono lila un poco oscuro.

I made a sketch of a face, I wanted a face with very close to better explore this new color palette, I started applying a pink base tone and then I added the shadows and lights, I made an adjustment in the next layer as I was not convinced by the shadows I had placed in the image 2, then I decided to place most of the dark parts in light, I continued adding colors between pinks and purples forming the whole face, in another layer I began to mix the colors together leaving a cleaner finish, after having the skin ready I began to paint the hair with a little dark lilac tone.

Pinte las cejas y pestañas, esto me costó muchísimo trabajo aunque no lo parezca, estoy muy acostumbrada a hacer las cejas y pestañas de colores fuertes, la mayoría de mis dibujos los realizo con pestañas completamente negras, pero esta vez utilice un morado medio/oscuro y desaturado, para que hiciese juego con toda la paleta de colores y además darle un acabado más sutil, luego empecé a añadir luces al cabello para esto jugué con algunos azules, morados y un poco de rosa, añadí puntos de luz en los ojos, nariz y boca para iluminarlos como siempre me ha gustado hacer, esta vez no realice una edición de mi dibujo ya que consideraba que estaba bien de esta forma.

I painted the eyebrows and eyelashes, this took me a lot of work although it doesn't look like it, I am very used to do the eyebrows and eyelashes in strong colors, most of my drawings I do them with completely black eyelashes, but this time I used a medium/dark purple and desaturated, to match the whole color palette and also to give a more subtle finish, then I started to add lights to the hair for this I played with some blues, purples and a little pink, I added points of light in the eyes, nose and mouth to illuminate them as I always like to do, this time I didn't make an edition of my drawing since I considered that it was fine this way.
