Inktober 7: Panic

in Alien Art Hive • 5 days ago

It's been a whole ass week of inktober and OMG I am so proud of myself ;;w;; in the last few years I couldn't rally make it that far nor that consistently with the prompts but I think I'm still on track here

I'm not going to do such a long write up with this one, I think because 'm just squeezing this in on my break but the prompt word for today is panic
And I did try my best to make hr look panicked but I mostly see far in her eyes and maybe shock, definitely not panic

Materials Black ink, black pens, chaalk, white acrylic marker
Duration: 2.5 hours

So I didn't really detail this one much and I didn't really spend a lot of time on it last night because I still wasn't feeling all that great nor recovd from my fever but oh well, I'm trying to prove something here XD

As for my progression, I did start inking and sketching this the afternoon before while I was waiting for a few data from a re-assay batch

it was mostly just rough sketching and blocking at this point because I was kind of just on standby and ready to drop my pen as soon the numbers came out. I think I still waited like 30 minutes for my data so that basically won't a far as a bit of shading and a lot of blacking ot things with themarker and just readjusting the facial features as much as necesary

I did continue this last night when I clocked out. I did the shading and just adding as much detail as I could

After about hours of just wracking my brains an figuring out if this was good enogh, I caved because my meds were sartig to make me drowsy and if I wanted to continue the work week in peace , I really had to sleep early
But ys,I did manage to finish this one pretty quick becuse I only used black ink. I ended up throwing another pen away because I'd emptied it, but it's part of the process.

But that's all from me for today. I am going to nap for the rest of my break in hopes that I recover faster and then we'll see if I need to go home and just recover are tough it out for the rest of the week. Anyays, happy hump day everyone! May you guys have a better day than I do!

Well done completing the first week of Inktober, and you started using the #slothbuzz tag whilst I was slothin! It was great seeing your last couple of posts when curating the #slothbuzz content; it made me panic and come back to drop some comments!

I love how you say your art has 'little detail', i'm always blown away! Keep it up, you're buzzing!

I did promise I'll use it and this is me fulfilling that promises albeit a little late but at least!

One might say it's simply slothish, which you'll find i'm all in favour of! Sloth and steady wins the race and all that!

The sloth timing lives in me is all I can say in my defense 🤣🤣 we are both sloths at heart

Damn, no Inktober activity in Hive this year :(

By the way, very good art for 2.5 hrs. I like the use of the white acrylic marker. 🙌

Yeah I was waiting for any announcements this entire September but nothing happened so oh well, might as well do my thing again 🥲

But yesss 2.5 because I didn't need to switch pens and layers that much so it got done fairly quick

Making it through a whole week of Inktober is such a big win, especially when you are not feeling well. Honestly, the expression you captured feels more like shock than panic, but I think it works really well for the drawing anyway. Hope you get some good rest today.

I would think so because I was arguing with a friend I draw with that there's panic in fear too so it can be a mixed expression of sorts, right?
Thank you for the well wishes too 🤗🤗 I hope things are good on your end

Lovely, very sharp dear

Does it look sharp?

Yes of course, you really drew well.

I want to join this challenge.

Please give me the necessary information thank you 😊

It's inktober so you just follow the prompts from the website
https://inktober.com/rules
It's not really a challenge or anything but it's like a fun art activity for yourself
