Sometimes when we set out to do something, life has other plans and gives us a big bitch slap instead. We pick ourselves up but we are a bloodied mess with our self confidence in shreds.
After getting knocked down a few times we stop aiming to succeed and start subconsciously aiming to fail because ultimately it seems like a more effective strategy.
In the end we are all going to get old and die. Or maybe we don’t even get to do the old part, and we just die young.
Is there a work around to avoid falling into this trap of submission to failure? (asking for a friend) Self help books usually say things like “stay focused, stay positive, and keep striving for excellence”
They never seem to say “”Everything is fucked, we can’t win swimming in this sea of stupidity, with each passing day we move closer to death, so we might as well give up trying and just smoke more pot”
There is a little voice in my head that sometimes says that sort of stuff. (It’s name is Numptynuts) but even if it’s right in a way, I don’t like being told what to do, and just because that voice is in my own head, it’s really no different to a voice on a loud speaker telling everyone to wear a mask.

Well failure can be definitive, what we deem to be failure might just not be, time sometimes sorts these things out. This one is really thoughtful.
Being a contrarian, nothing inspires me quite like knowing we are all being programmed to accept failure.
