This week, I participated again in the Splinterlands social media section, and I decided to bring the character "Silvershield Bard" to life in the Simpsons style.
The Silvershield Bards are fascinating and unique in the world of Splinterlands. They have extremely loud voices, and most importantly, they are not afraid to use them! In battle, a bard's song can unify and accelerate a team, and its maximum volume has the power to drive away possessing spirits. It's like bringing music into battle, and that's something that really inspired me!
My composition for this drawing focuses on the bard in the foreground, completely immersed in his music as he plays his guitar. I imagined him in a beautiful sunset in a countryside, with green fields stretching into the distance and a cozy cottage in the background. I wanted to capture that moment of serenity and power that this character emanates, as if his music could fill the world with magic and energy.
The process of creating this work was an exciting journey. From the initial sketch to the final details, every brushstroke and color was carefully chosen to bring this fantasy world to life. I immersed myself in the personality of Silvershield Bard and his environment to ensure that each element conveyed his essence.

Quería capturar ese momento de serenidad y poder que este personaje emana, como si su música pudiera llenar el mundo de magia y energía.
El proceso de creación de esta obra fue un viaje emocionante. Desde el esbozo inicial hasta los detalles finales, cada pincelada y color fueron cuidadosamente elegidos para dar vida a este mundo de fantasía. Me sumergí en la personalidad del Silvershield Bard y su entorno para asegurarme de que cada elemento transmitiera su esencia.

Bards of the Silver Shield have extremely loud voices, and they are not afraid to use them. In battle, the a Bard’s song can unify and hasten a team, and their maximum volume has the power to scare away possessing spirits. In the University of Illumination, these musical enthusiasts are trained and ingrained for years in the official sanctioned Lore of the Silver Shield. What they lack in vocal talent, the Bards make up for in storytelling, humor and wit.
Los bardos del Escudo de Plata tienen voces extremadamente altas, y no temen usarlas. En la batalla, la canción de un bardo puede unificar y acelerar a un equipo, y su volumen máximo tiene el poder de ahuyentar a los espíritus poseedores. En la Universidad de la Iluminación, estos entusiastas de la música son entrenados e instruidos durante años en el Lore oficial del Escudo de Plata. Lo que les falta de talento vocal, los bardos lo compensan con narración, humor e ingenio.
Process / Proceso
I began this project with an initial sketch, capturing the image I had in mind on a blank digital sheet of paper. I wanted to make sure that the composition was balanced and that the bard would stand out against the sunset in the countryside.
Once the sketch was complete, I moved on to outlining. I used smooth, flowing lines to shape every detail of the character and his surroundings. Outlining is a crucial part of defining the contours and structure of the drawing.
Next, came the exciting process of coloring. This is where I was able to really bring Silvershield Bard and his environment to life. I chose a warm color palette for the sunset and vibrant colors for the character and his guitar. Each stroke of color contributed to the atmosphere and personality of the drawing.
Applying shadows and highlights was a crucial step in adding depth and realism to the work. The shadows were used to define the areas where the light does not reach directly, while the glows highlighted the points of greater light intensity. This helped the bard and his surroundings appear more three-dimensional and vibrant.
Throughout the entire process, it was important to maintain a constant communication between the elements of the drawing, making sure that the character integrated organically into the landscape and that the music he played resonated with the environment.
In short, creating this digital drawing of Silvershield Bard was a creative journey that involved careful planning of the sketch, definition with outlining, life with coloring, and depth with shadows and glows. Each step was essential to achieve the final result that I shared on my art blog.
Comencé este proyecto con un boceto inicial, plasmando la imagen que tenía en mente en una hoja digital en blanco. Quería asegurarme de que la composición fuera equilibrada y que el bardo se destacara en el atardecer de la campiña.
Una vez que el boceto estuvo completo, pasé al delineado. Utilicé líneas suaves y fluidas para dar forma a cada detalle del personaje y su entorno. El delineado es una parte crucial para definir los contornos y la estructura del dibujo.
Después, llegó el emocionante proceso de colorear. Aquí es donde pude realmente dar vida al Silvershield Bard y su entorno. Elegí una paleta de colores cálidos para el atardecer y colores vibrantes para el personaje y su guitarra. Cada trazo de color contribuyó a la atmósfera y la personalidad del dibujo.
Aplicar sombras y brillos fue un paso crucial para añadir profundidad y realismo a la obra. Las sombras se utilizaron para definir las áreas donde la luz no llega directamente, mientras que los brillos resaltaron los puntos de mayor intensidad lumínica. Esto ayudó a que el bardo y su entorno parecieran más tridimensionales y vibrantes.

Cada paso fue esencial para lograr el resultado final que compartí en mi blog de arte.
