I am very happy to be able to tell you about this drawing that filled me with nostalgia
✨Inspiration✨
This can be taken as a redrawing of an illustration made in 2016, it belongs to a group of drawings made while I started studying community medicine, it was one of my most creative, inventive and also happy times as far as my social and student life is concerned.
Part of the idea originated from seeing the hairstyles of artists like Melanie Martinez and playing with my typical concept of fairies and elves, although in this original version I didn't have pointed ears.
The illustration itself shows a character with different characteristics on both sides (left and right) and it is two boys in one.
On the right side is Satiry, the more shy and compassionate side. His appearance and hair was made based on a plant known as muhlenbergia capillaris or also called Pink Hair Grass.
Satiry is a male nymph, he is in charge of taking care of a meadow of the same plant and if he leaves it for more than 24 hours she could be risking her life.
While on the left side is Kalan, formerly called Herbae, is the more adventurous and curious side, its design was not made with the reference of any plant, however I usually relate it to some succulents.
Kalan is a spirit of the forest without any obligation and free as the wind, whose occupation does not go beyond spying on what other forest dwellers do.
Now, why are Kalan and Satiry united? That was a punishment given by a minor deity, who looked with envy at their relationship that seemed to be more than just friends, although that event was nothing more than an outburst on Kalan's part, similar to the myth of Hermaphroditus and the nymph Salmacis, but much more cruel.
The original drawing was stolen from my folder by my sister and given to one of her class friends.
A few years later and with that idea in mind, I decided to redo it.
🌱 The Process 🌱
The canvas is a 15,2cmX9,5cm cardboard, this drawing like the one in the previous post belongs to a collection of small works stored in an album.
I decided to draw the new drawing in a different pose, and with a single heart much more realistic than the originals. The shape of the eyes, ears and teeth also had a noticeable change.
It is always very embarrassing for me to see how I did some things before, a clear example was the flower crown, which looked like a lot of green and purple cotton squashed around the head.
I took the liberty of shading a lot of the colors that were there, the pink of the hair with purple, orange and blue, and the green leaves with blue and aquamarine. I even used various colors on the skin, making the skin darker.
The heart present is a clear sign of the influence of other artists, an influence coming from a great friend and mentor.
The background this time I chose to do it with cold paint, and change the font of the word "Love" a term that knowing the context of the work, is quite cynical.
After some pointillism with white on the background and some with concealer on the flowers, eyes, cheeks and shoulders, I finished the work.
Satiry will always seek to separate himself from Kalan for hurting him and will hate that deity that condemned him to live that way.

Este puede tomarse como un redibujo de una ilustracion realizada en el 2016, pertenece a un grupo de dibujos realizados mientras comenzaba a estudiar medicina comunitaria, fue una de mis épocas más creativas, inventivas y también felices en cuanto a mi vida social y estudiantil respecta.
Parte de la idea se originó viendo los peinados de artistas como Melanie Martínez y jugando con mi típico concepto de hadas y elfos, aunque en esta versión original no tuviera orejas puntiagudas.
La ilustración muestra en sí, un personaje con características distintas de ambos lados (izquierdo y derecho) y es que se trata de dos chicos en uno.
Del lado derecho se encuentra Satiry, el lado más tímido y compasivo. Su apariencia y cabello fue realizada en base a una planta conocida como muhlenbergia capillaris o también llamada Hierba de cabello rosado.
Satiry es una ninfa en masculino, se encarga de cuidar un prado de la misma planta y si sale de este por más de 24 horas puede estar arriesgando su vida.
Mientras que del lado izquierdo se encuentra Kalan, anteriormente llamado Herbae, es el lado más aventurero y curioso, su diseño no se realizó con la referencia de alguna planta, sin embargo suelo relacionarlo con algunas suculentas.
Kalan es un espíritu del bosque sin obligación alguna y libre como el viento, cuya ocupación no va más allá de espiar lo que hacen otros habitantes del bosque.
Ahora ¿Porque Kalan y Satiry se encuentran unidos? Ese fue un castigo dado por una deidad menor, la cual vio con envidia su relación que parecía de algo más que amigos, aunque ese evento no fue más que un arrebato por parte de Kalan, similar al del mito de Hermafrodito y la ninfa Salmacis, pero mucho más cruel.
El dibujo original fue robado de mi carpeta por mi hermana y regalado a una de sus amigas de clases.
Unos cuantos años después y con esa idea, decidí re hacerlo.
🌱 El Proceso 🌱
El lienzo es una cartulina de 15,2cmX9,5cm, este dibujo al igual que el del anterior post pertenece a una colección de obras pequeñas guardada en un álbum.
Decidí trazar el nuevo dibujo en una pose distinta, y con un solo corazón mucho más realista que los originales. La forma de los ojos, orejas y dientes también tuvieron un cambio bastante notorio.
Siempre es muy vergonzoso para mi ver cómo hacía algunas cosas antes, un claro ejemplo era la corona de flores, que parecía mucho algodón verde y morado aplastado alrededor de la cabeza.
Me tome la gran libertad de matizar mucho los colores que habían, el rosado del cabello con morado, naranja y azul, y las hojas verdes con azul y aguamarina. Incluso usé varios colores en la piel, consiguiendo que la piel fuera más oscura.
El corazón presente es una clara señal de la influencia de otros artistas, una influencia venida de una gran amiga y mentora.
El fondo esta vez opte por hacerlo con pintura al frío, y cambiar la fuente de la palabra “Love” una termino que conociendo el contexto de la obra, es bastante cínico.
Tras algo de puntillismo con color blanco sobre el fondo y algunos con corrector en la flores, ojos, mejillas y hombros, di por finalizaba la obra.
Satiry siempre buscará separarse de Kalan por haberlo lastimado y odiará a aquella deidad que lo condenó a vivir de esa forma.

Adoro los matices de color que hay en la piel, aunque es un dibujo animado, esa variedad de colores me hace percibirlo como algo vivo, algo que siente; otra cosa que adoro es la corona de flores morada, es muy detallada, es preciosa.
Es natural sentir pena al ver nuestros dibujos de cuando éramos principiantes, pero creo que ahí está lo bonito del asunto, porque nos permite ver y apreciar nuestro crecimiento artístico a lo largo de los años.

Amo las ilustraciones en fondo negro, todos los detallitos resaltan a la perfección. Deus, no se cómo rayos haces para que cada personaje tenga una historia tan dramática y de paso te acuerdas de todo; cuando intento hacer algo así, lo tengo que anotar en algún lado porque no voy a recordarlo XD. Deberías hacer una especie de libro o tal vez como un oráculo y llamarlo "La Rosa de Los dibujos de Nemite" 😁 (Oh por dios! el crimen de tu hermanita no tiene perdón XD aunque la entiendo).
