The Inktober is a drawing challenge created by Jake Parker, in which the whole month of October, you must draw a drawing in ink or other material every day. October has 31 days, so there will be a total of 31 drawings. A word is assigned each day of the month, which will serve as inspiration for each drawing, i.e., if today's word is bat, that will be the word of inspiration for the drawing. It is an excellent challenge, it helps to loosen the hand and to speed up the strokes in terms of drawing or to have better imagination or creation for ideas. I did this challenge two years ago and at that time, it helped me a lot to improve my drawing all that month, so I wanted to participate again this year.
El Inktober es un desafió de dibujo creado por Jake Parker, en el cual todo el mes de Octubre, se debe de dibujar un dibujo a tinta u otro material cada día. Octubre tiene 31 días, así que serien en total 31 dibujos. Se asigna una palabra cada día del mes, que servirá como inspiración para hacer cada dibujo, es decir; si la palabra de hoy es murciégalo, esa sera la palabra de inspiración para el dibujo. Es un excelente desafió, ayuda a soltar la mano y a agilizar los trazos en cuanto al dibujo o a tener mejor imaginación o creación para ideas. Hice este desafió hace dos años y en aquel entonces, me ayudo demasiado a mejorar en el dibujo todo ese mes, así que quise participar este año otra vez.
When I read the word "bat", I immediately thought of the animal, obviously hahaha. I didn't want to do the animal, so I was inspired by the bat and created a character, so I could do something a little more creative.
Cuando leí la palabra "murciégalo", de inmediato pensé en el animal, obvio jajaja. No quise hacer el animal, así que mejor me inspire en el murciégalo y cree un personaje, para así hacer algo un poco más creativo.

I wanted to make a character that was inspired by a bat, but not a bat, if you know what I mean? So what I did was to be inspired by the animal, in order to create my character. I took aspects of the animal to integrate it into my character and bring it to life.
Quería hacer un personaje que estuviera inspirado en un murciégalo, mas no que fuese un murciégalo, si me entienden? Así que lo que hice fue inspirarme en el animal, para así crear mi personaje. Tome aspectos del animal para integrarlo en mi personaje y darle vida al mismo.

I started to make the sketch in my sketchbook, looking at the references of bats on Pinterest. I'm going to be honest, I thought this drawing was going to take me a long time, because of the fact of creating a character, but it was the opposite, the sketch was done very fast. This Inktober is surprising me too much, a few weeks ago I didn't feel like drawing and I couldn't think of anything for any drawing and by doing this Inktober, all my energy and ideas have come back.
Comencé a hacer el boceto en mi cuaderno de dibujos, viendo las referencias de murciégalos en Pinterest. Les voy a ser sincero, este dibujo pensé que me iba a llevar mucho tiempo, por el hecho de crear un personaje, pero fue todo lo contrario, el boceto lo hice muy rápido. Este Inktober me esta sorprendiendo demasiado, hace unas semanas atrás no tenia ánimos de dibujar y no se me ocurría nada para ningún dibujo y haciendo el Inktober, todos mis ánimos e ideas han vuelto.

Once I had the sketch finished, I went to give life to the drawing by painting it. I started with a layer of black paint, mixed with water, to start from the lightest to the darkest, which would be the shadows. For the last part I left the details such as the linear and some details in white and that's it. I really loved this drawing, no doubt someday I will work on it more and I will turn it to color.
Una vez que tuve el boceto terminado, me fui a darle vida al dibujo pintándolo. Comencé con una capa de pintura negra, mezclada con agua, para así comenzar desde lo más claro, hasta trabajar lo mas oscuro, que serian las sombras. Para lo ultimo deje lo que seria los detalles como el linear y algunos detalles en blanco y listo. Este dibujo me encanto demasiado la verdad, sin duda algún día lo trabaje más y lo pasare a color.
