I believe it's important to apply certain personal traits and concepts of behaviour to one's life that assists one to operate at their best or at the worst to move closer to it. We all only have one life and to me it makes good sense to do things that help it be the best possible version.

There's not just one element but many that come into play in the pursuit of continual improvement and a better life and if the right ones are applied a person can find their way forward towards their goals, growth and development in better ways. It's not easy - something that seemingly confounds a society consistently looking for easy options - but for those who embark upon the journey, and put their heart and soul into it, there's big rewards on offer.

I've always found that it's best to determine which are the most important to me and which are going to achieve the (potentially) best results and then stack them together to be applied simultaneously in various areas of life, professional and personal, and to evaluate along the way making changes where required...then repeating it. The "stacking" process allows each element to support and augment the other and the effectiveness compounds.

I've applied ownership, discipline, responsibility, and effort to my life and those four elements (together with many others) others have helped me design, create and shape my life the way I've wanted it to be.

Sure I haven't always succeeded as intended, and it's often been very difficult, but even through the failures that occurred I've found better ways forward, made the changes required and gone again.

I wonder what personal traits, thoughts and behavioural elements you feel are most important to your journey and which you have stacked together for the best results. Feel free to comment below, I'd like to hear.

For me it's determination and the ability to find the funny side that's kept me going. There's so much shit in this world that if I didn't laugh, I'd surely cry.

I believe this to be a very important aspect for sure. Determination, that goes without saying really; it's an essential element and quite obvious. But the other, the funny side, you call it. I think that's something so many people forget about, myself included at times. It comes in various ways but the ability to laugh at ourselves and to find the lighter side of life when troubles strike or when driving towards a solid result...it can make the journey much more enjoyable.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Discipline and stubbornness are probably the two that have carried me the furthest in life. Not as disciplined as I used to be, but...discipline kept me stepping up even when I didn't feel like it. Still a stubborn SOB though. Stubbornness to refuse to quit even when everything and everybody seems to be telling me to.

Self-awareness and patience can go on the "stack" as well. Knowing my limits. Knowing when to push on and when to rest. Knowing when I'm full of shit and need to course correct. Patience too. It is still a work in progress. Then again, they all are I guess. I'm impatient by nature.

Still working on all of it. Probably always will be.

The two tend to go hand in hand and stubbornness can be an excellent tool when used correctly.

You have really captured some good points in your comment; I like the when to push and when not to aspect as well. Like me, your wealth of experience has furnished you with some valuable elements to deploy in life.

Thanks for commenting.

I think humility is a big one. You need to be able to admit when you are wrong and accept when you aren't always right. Great opening photo by the way!

Well said, but a thing so many people struggle with in a society in which people seem to always want to be right...and argue the point on it. Humility goes a long way.

Thanks for the comment on the photo. I was at a place doing some things in the course of my job and saw this and had a crack at making it look good on a photo. I'm glad you've commented.

Good one. Think I roll that one in with self-awareness. As stubborn as can be, but never too stubborn to admit when I'm wrong.

How's those tablets coming?

Got the freshmen taken care of yesterday. My worker is handling the sophomores today.
