An Original Poem {To A Place Beyond Limits}

Engulfed in blinding darkness,
Reaching for a door to
nowhere,
Both eyes can not see,
Yet mine soft and tender
heart dreams.

I have narrow faith, the size
of a mustard seed,
And I hope a little for that
touch of staggering light.
Aim to miss, a purpose that
calls to me,
The salty taste of defeat, this
tongue would rather not keep.

My feet are perpetually bound,
No further than here
can I be found.
Reaching up for the unattainable
heights,
Dreams of greatness, left so far
out of sight.

The journey is endless and
the will so strong,
Yet the peak is still far beyond
what I long.
A longing to reach, to break free
of these binds,
A hunger to touch the divine.
Yet coming so close, yet still
so far away,
The climb continues on,
another day.

Another step up, another
one tread,
The skies promise hope, but
the path isn't yet led.
Rise and falter and rise
yet again,
An unknown force that drives
from within.

Trying to touch what cannot
be touched,
The journey relentless, never
ending much.
The bonds that bind and keep
from escape,
Nagging thoughts of loneliness
and fate.
But onward and upward,
a pilgrimage for sure,
Until the answer is found, of
that much is sure.
