Sometimes, we ponder how life gets more difficult. The prices increase, the salary is flat. Well, ask yourselves when you tuned into the news to hear about rich people or how the government officials have future-less spending. Then it's, "That means the system is broken" for many.
The economy, providing what decently meant to everybody, leaves them depressed the more it transforms poor people into rich ones. Rich capitalists know ways to lure profits easily compared to the small players who toil day in and day out but only get to survive.
What baffles me is that it is normally the rule of the law that is in the favor of the powerful. When a crisis hits, big corporations are the first to get rescued. Ordinary people? Told to be patient. During the piling of the debt amount in the country, the people are the ones to fully pay the price; a greater price is paid by everyone in terms of higher prices, more taxes, and fewer job opportunities.
And then there is the environment. For the sake of profits, forests are razed off for reckless expansion of mining. But who suffers? - Local communities. Floods, pollution, and loss of land are all theirs. The other party pockets the cash.
The economy, actually, is supposed to be everybody living decently together. Fairness is there: the rich pay taxes according to their share, the small are supported so they can grow. Local businesses, cooperatives, and small entrepreneurs should be the backbone of the business, rather than being overshadowed by big corporations.
A broken machine can still be repaired. It takes bravery to change the rules of the game, and awareness from all of us not to simply take things for granted. Because if nothing changes, this broken system will continue to make ordinary people the victims of society while a handful of elites laugh at the top.
It is really amazing to see that even when we have a failed economy, fellow humans who are leaders can't even do anything to salvage it even when it's in their capacity.
There because they see the growth of others as a treat to their success
