La imagen de esta semana, nos muestra un “cerdo” negro parado en un parche de hierba seca con vegetación verde en el fondo. El animal parece estar mirando directamente a la cámara de quien capturó el momento, y su pelaje parece estar húmedo, dándole un aspecto brillante. Lo primero que hice fue pensar en una parrilla.
Basándome en mis observaciones, podría ser un cerdo vientre de olla, que es una raza conocida por su tamaño más pequeño y vientre abultado. Estos cerdos son populares como mascotas y se originaron en Vietnam. Pero podría ser más bien un “báquiro”, pecarí. Si pudiera ver sus colmillos, mi apreciación sería más exacta. Un ejercicio poético nos ilustrará las diferencias…
En el campo verde y vasto,
bajo el cielo tan inmenso,
vive el cerdo, rosa y graso,
en la granja con empeño.
Con sus hermanos los puercos,
en el barro siempre encuentro,
mientras que el Tayassuidae,
en la selva tiene su templo.
El Tayassuidae es fiero,
con colmillos como hierro,
no es doméstico ni tierno,
vive libre sin destierro.
Es un jabalí del Nuevo Mundo,
su familia es un misterio,
en las Américas vagando,
aquellas historias de colones.
Y entre ellos el báquiro,
También conocido como pecarí,
Es un cerdo salvaje,
Que anda libre por allí.
El vaquero cuida los rebaños,
con su lazo y su acero,
entre cerdos y Tayassuidae,
él es guardián sincero.
Así en versos te describo,
las vidas que se entrelazan,
en la naturaleza escribo,
de las criaturas que abrazan.

mientras que el Tayassuidae pasa,
y el báquiro anda libre,
las historias se entrelazan.

Based on my observations, it could be a pot-bellied pig, which is a breed known for its smaller size and bulging belly. These pigs are popular as pets and originated in Vietnam. But it could be more of a “báquiro”, peccary. If I could see its tusks, my assessment would be more accurate. A poetic exercise
