The fence stood tall, freshly painted, bright and proud. At first, it was just a boundary between two gardens, two families, two ways of seeing the world. But over time, it grew in meaning. It became a symbol of everything unspoken — of pride, resentment, and unhealed words. The neighbors no longer waved across it.
One day, a child climbed it, laughing, unaware of the old grudge. For a moment, both sides smiled. Maybe fences are not meant to keep people out — but to remind us how small our walls truly are.
