Weekend in the Graveyard

in Freewriters2 years ago (edited)

The picture depicts an old unkept graveyard.

I absolutely feel lonely and dreary, didn't know it would have much power just really trying to describe the feeling.

STORY
It was the weekend again and seriously last weekend was a blast for I and my brother Jason. We went for Anthonia's birthday party that resulted to the best weekend so far.
This weekend would only be better, we had been saving our pocket money for over six months for this day to come.

Mike, where's your brother?
Mum asked as she yelled from the kitchen.

He's in his room, I replied as we kept counting how much we have saved so far.

Quite surprisingly, mum just got news that her new venture made massive profits in the new quarter.
So she was acting childishly and asking of anyone without a reason.
I thought of what was going on on her mind because I couldn't actually comprehend her joy but Jason and I already have a fine line up for the weekend.

We were to buy our dream BMX bike and join others riding around but Jason had always wanted going to that old cemetery that had all spooky tales to tell.
We've always been adventurous, so we would absolutely explore the dreariness of the afternoon as I recall the weather forecaster forecasting heavy thunder storm with light showers.
What a day to explore the cemetery.

Jason, let's get our breakfast, mum is all done.
Mike, you like food ooo, you never stop eating.
What's the meaning of that? If I get our meal to this room, you'd end up eating mine and yours without a second thought, see you head".

On opening the door, mum yells, please you boys should come back by 7pm and have fun, alright?
Uniformly, we replied yeah, slamming the door.

It would cost $100 each for the bicycles, the bicycle seller told us.
This wasn't what you said on Thursday when you said $90 each and they are not new stocks, why the change in price?
Jason was always the one dealing with transactions.

You know what I'd give you $182 as a sign of good faith, we've been coming here asking for the price for over three months now, so I know, you certainly cheating me.

On handing the dealer the money, he went in to get the invoice but we had waited six months for today, we were already up for some mischief.
We picked up our brand new bicycles and rode straight to the cemetery and it was everything we've heard, falling nameplates, dry leaves littered on the ground, it was just shabby. It was actually bigger than we thought to ourselves.

That's our thunderstorm, I'm already getting scared, I can barely see, what if the stories are true?Mike said.

Jason carried on like no one had said a thing.

Keeping quiet now, Mike stopped to pee and when he was done, Jason hadn't stop to check on his brother who suddenly stopped complaining.

About 10 seconds of riding, Jason sees a man walking then it occurs to him.
*What? Where's Mike? he thought, putting the new BMX to a sudden halt, then the naked man stares in his direction.
Jason decides turning back to look for Mike as the naked man begins walking towards him.

Today isn't a good day, why am I here? It keeps getting darker faster.
Should I yell his name?

Jason thought then remembered yelling in the cemetery when it's dark, the dead tend to come out from their graves and I'm yet to yell and one is already out.

Looking at his time, it was already 7:45pm and mum is going to be mad.

Out of the blues, the naked man was in front of Jason as he lost control of the bicycle then falling to the ground.

Help! Help!! Help!!!

The only words that helpless Jason kept on screaming with his eyes shut till there was a burst of laughter.

We've got him, the mad man said to Mike who was laughing at scared Jason on the ground.

Still in fear and now filled with anger, Jason shoves Mike lightly asking, what's the meaning?

As you have been planning that we ride here, I've been planning to give you a shock, nothing seem to scare you so why not today.

For now let's head home, so that mum wouldn't be worried, I'd tell you about everything when we home.

Wonder if the mad man did that favour for free.

Thanks for the story. 👍

Mike never told me so we'd never know, thanks for reblogging and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
