My long neck story
Back then in High school, I didn't get to enjoy it actually feels like to be in high school. I was really tall, slim and had really long neck with a heavy and deep beauty bone.
While in school, my classmates would always make fond of me and they termed me "ostrich's neck". I used to feel so ashamed of myself. I never accepted my body the way it was, I hate my body. I felt so different, unwanted and ostracized from others.
One evening, on my way to market after school, a man saw me and laughed so hard and mocked at my neck. In his words he said, "look at this girl with her neck long like that of an ostrich". I felt so bad, hurt and tears rolled down my cheeks.
And at home? Whenever I do something wrong, instead of being just corrected, I'll be mocked at for having long neck. They called me "python neck". I felt so unwanted in my home.
One day, I met a friend in school who loved and accepted me just the way I was. She would always tell me no to mind those making fond of me and that I should be proud of my body and never let anyone make me feel ashamed. I took her advice and from that day, anyone who tried to make fond of me always got a hot reply that mad them stop. I started accepting my body, I stopped minding what people said I looked like and I soon found myself not being bothered anymore.
But today, I look different. Though I still have the long but not as long as it used to and my beauty bone... very perfect and lovely.
My advice to everyone reading my post today is, always accept who you are,no matter how you feel you look, you're perfect just the way God created you. Never let what people say get to you, because their duty is to talk but they can't do nothing to change you. So be proud of yourself and aspire to be better.
