Sadness is caused by intelligence,
who can deny it, who doubts it.
The more you understand certain things,
the more you wish you didn't.
The brilliant mind that investigates everything
can't help but see the raw reality,
and in the midst of such clarity,
sadness awakens, so sharp.
Wisdom is a double sword,
it cuts through ignorance but wounds the soul,
for in understanding the world in depth,
it reveals secrets that sadden the dawn.
That's why sometimes, in the dark night,
I prefer to close my eyes and not think,
to forget what I have learned and just be,
free from the burden that the intellect gives.
