So this is a refurbished Windows 11 computer, it came with mouse, keyboard and monitor, it also has the 2024 Microsoft Office on it. I think I paid about $180 out the door on Ebay. Well it works alright.

The reason I bought it, is because the support on Windows 10 is going away on October 14th, a couple of days from now, as I write. So here I am again, buying an upgraded computer.

My last computer with the Windows 10 couldn't switch over, I guess it didn't have the requirements to make that change. I found out that Windows 11 will have its support stopped sometime in 2031, so I have about 6 years or so.

I remember I bought my first real computer that could connect to the internet from a computer show at the fairgrounds back in 1997. My friend Gary wanted to check it out and wanted me to go too and told me to bring some money.

Well I did buy my first real computer that could get the internet at the time, dial up. I kind of liked that noisy sound at the time, but a phone call could knock you off the internet. So I got two lines to put into the house. One for phone calls and one for internet dial up and a fax machine.

The computer I purchased at the computer show was about 1200 dollars out the door. Wow that is a lot of money. But that is how much it cost in those days of 1997.

My first computer, though without any internet was an IBM PC XT, now that was a computer too. One year I even did my taxes on it, with Turbo Tax, but the software in later years did work anymore with my old machine. If I remember right I bought that IBM PC XT for about $1200 used back in 1986 or 1987, I wish I kept the receipt.

Though I still used it to write letters and print out stuff, and labels too. Believe it or not I still have that IBM PC XT, maybe one of these days maybe when I am like 90 years old, God willing I will sell it. It still works, though I haven't touched it in years.

The computer I bought for 1200 dollars back in 1997 well that one is long gone. Can you imagine I could buy a Windows 11 computer for as cheap as $180, some cell phones cost more than that.

Well that is the way it goes.

So this new computer I have, I put on a small table as I don't really want to disconnect my Windows 10 computer yet. I am finding that my Windows 10 computer can do somethings that my new computer can not. I guess I better just keep my old computers.

Back in 2020 I bought my Windows 10 computer, because in those days I was using my Windows 7 which I still have sitting in the hallway. There are things in that Windows 7 computer that I still want to look at.

Well, I guess I don't have to worry about all this Windows 11 being unsupported until 2031, God willing, that is.

Let's end with a scripture, with Jesus speaking, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35.
