The redheaded engineer picked at her plate of food.
"What's wrong? Don't like the special tonight?" Jack asked his sister. They had stopped into the Blue Oyster bar and grill on Centigrade Outpost while they were on a maintenance and refueling stop for their old warship, The Badger, and were enjoying a few drinks and some cheap food.
"I don't really understand the hype for this fruit," She said as she moved around the thick red pulpy fruit around on her plate with the fork. "It looks and smells weird. You can finish it."
Jack reached over and plucked the firm skinned morsel off of her plate and popped it in his mouth. He chewed slowly and spoke again with a full mouth.
"It's crazy how the fruit from this carnivorous plant from Nyx tastes just like a steak! The galaxy is a wonderful place!"
"I just can't handle a lot of the native food from the planets on the Outer Rim," Riley muttered as she finished off her whiskey and chased it with the rest of her pint of beer. "Too weird."
