Go-A-Fishing

in Freewriters11 months ago

A bird of prey
From a flight emerges
In Waters deep and blue
And with the wind soars
Into the clear and open Skies

In the long lonely night
Searching upon the shores
Ready to swoop down with speed
But finding only emptiness
Till Dawn slowly breaks
Into this very beautiful morning

But there's nothing beautiful
In thirst and hunger
In flying through the Sun
And the Rain
Finding only emptiness
My heart quickens its beat
My heart masks my pain
When I go-a-fishing
And all I see is a plain so barren
A plain so barren

With a life span so short
I scan the horizon
Only dark clouds in the expanse
And ominous signs of famine
I cannot face the morrow
Where I scarcely can hunt for dinner
Where I can't find the fishes roaming
When I cycle high in the Sky

CODA;

What I see; A bird, likely a bird of prey, a fish-hunter, emerging from the water (by the look of its wet and droopy feathers), and swiftly taking flight.

What I feel; As I zoomed in, I sensed a tinge of sadness in the bird's demeanour. Luck evaded it after all its prolonged effort in fishing. You can see the signs of disappointment written all over it as it takes flight, on an hungry stomach.

The situation with the bird struggling to catch fish despite its efforts can be likened to the plight of people in some countries today. Despite their hard work, many still struggle to secure basic necessities like food. This parallels the fear that one day, the available resources may not be sufficient to sustain the growing population, echoing the bird's disappointment as it flies away empty-handed.

There's something I can relate to.
Indiscriminate resource development can pollute the soil, causing food shortages.

Nicely penned. Well done

Thank you very much.

It starts with a light hearted description and I see the bird fly, next the situation becomes more clear and my heart heavier.
You wrote something about the animal world which reminds me of what I read today: people living g on the country live a way easier life. I can't relate with that. I
We struggle with influences of nature and the trash left behind by citizens just like that gull and there's no shop, doctor or safe harbour nearby.
