There's this old adage that says, "thinking outside the box". It is used to advise someone to think beyond the norms, they say you should do things differently from others or what you have been doing before.
Other folks might say, to get a different result, you need to do things differently from what you have been doing before. The box or norm is a limitation, allowing you to do the same thing over and over again. So, looking beyond the norms, there is a case of endless possibilities.
Some people have come to conclude that instead of thinking outside the box, why create a box in the first place. Not much is included in the box, you have to spread your wings across the horizon of limitless possibilities.
