Arianne had made it. She had woken up in a beautiful field bathed in sunlight and where the scent of flowers, the freshness of the grass, and the cheerful and happy atmosphere of trills and songs of the many birds, mixed with the warmth of the gentle breeze, enveloped everything. It was a wonderful place, where peace and tranquility reigned.
After having learned the technique of astral travel and having tried it many times, she had faced her fears and had dared to cross that first threshold that meant separating from her physical body. Reflecting internally in the middle of the field, he realized that now he could go anywhere, regardless of time, space, or distance. And instantly and almost without realizing it, in front of her, a huge door slowly materialized.
He walked with determination towards the gate and, with a cold wind whipping his face, stopped at the edge of it. With his heart pounding in his chest, he felt behind him the warm sun shining on the green meadow of a world he had always dreamed of. A world of wildflowers, crystal clear rivers, and lush forests. A world of peace and harmony is only possible in this way.
In front of her and as she crossed what seemed like a faint immaterial curtain, the atmosphere became desolate. A landscape of arid and rocky mountains stretched as far as the eye could see, over which loomed a gray and opaque sky. Just beyond and dominating the entire landscape, a huge planet, very similar to a moon, seemed to want to sink into the horizon, giving the impression, at times, that it would collide with the planet or enter below it in a very close orbit. It was a world that emanated an energy both hostile and mysterious.
Arianne's mind was filled with questions. What was this world on the other side of the portal all about? Although it seemed familiar at first, what resembled the moon of our earth, it caused her some fear. Why was it there, so close? Was it the earth itself? And if so, to what era did what he was observing correspond? Was it the past or the future of our planet?
But there was one question that resonated more strongly than the others: was this his destiny? Was this the beginning of the great adventure he had dreamed of and been searching for all his life?
The thrill of adventure was mixed with a feeling of doubt. One step forward would take her into a world that seemed unknown to her, and perhaps fraught with dangers and challenges. A step backward would return her to the safety of the known and the apparent tranquility of her home. She gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes for a moment, concentrating on her intuition. And when she opened them again, her decision was made.
The first impression that the sight of the image presented by the call A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words causes me, is very similar to that sensation that traveling between dimensions must mean. And thinking precisely of my own personal experiences of astral travel, which have meant real moments of anguish, I came up with the present story. Although on several occasions I was able to experience that strange sensation of being in another dimension, fear prevented me from daring to go beyond. Hence, the courage of the character in this short story. I invite the friends of Hive @yelimarin to be part of this initiative.

Arianne lo había conseguido. Se había despertado en un hermoso campo bañado por la luz del sol y en donde el aroma de las flores, la frescura de la hierba y el alegre y feliz ambiente de trinos y cantos de las numerosas aves, mezclados con la tibieza de la suave brisa, lo envolvían todo. Era un lugar maravilloso, donde reinaban la paz y la tranquilidad.
Después de haber aprendido la técnica sobre los viajes astrales y haberlo intentado muchas veces, había enfrentado sus temores y se había atrevido a cruzar ese primer umbral que significaba separarse de su cuerpo físico. Reflexionando internamente en medio del campo, se dio cuenta de que ahora podría ir a cualquier lugar, sin que importaran el tiempo, el espacio o la distancia. Y al instante y casi sin darse cuenta, frente a ella, se materializó lentamente una enorme puerta.
Caminó con determinación hacia el portal y, con un viento frío azotando su rostro, se detuvo al borde de este. Con el corazón palpitando en su pecho, sintió a sus espaldas el sol tibio que resplandecía sobre la verde pradera de un mundo que había siempre soñado. Un mundo de flores silvestres, ríos cristalinos y bosques frondosos. Un mundo de paz y armonía, solo posible de esta manera.
Delante de ella y al atravesar lo que parecía una tenue cortina inmaterial, el ambiente se volvía desolador. Un paisaje de montañas áridas y rocosas se extendía hasta donde alcanzaba la vista, sobre el cual se cernía un cielo gris y opaco. Un poco más allá y dominando todo el paisaje, un enorme planeta, muy similar a una luna, parecía querer hundirse en el horizonte, dando la impresión, a ratos, de que chocaría con el planeta o se adentraría por debajo de este en una órbita muy cercana. Se trataba de un mundo que emanaba una energía tanto hostil y como misteriosa.
La mente de Arianne se llenó de preguntas. ¿De qué se trataba este mundo al otro lado del portal? Aunque en un principio se le pareció conocido, lo que se asemejaba a la luna de nuestra tierra, le causaba cierto temor. ¿Por qué estaba allí, tan cerca? ¿Se trataba de la misma tierra? Y de ser así, ¿a qué época correspondía lo que estaba observando? ¿Sería acaso el pasado o el futuro de nuestro planeta?
Pero había una pregunta que resonaba con más fuerza que las demás: ¿Este era su destino? ¿Sería este el momento inicial de la gran aventura que había soñado y estuvo buscando toda su vida?
La emoción de la aventura se mezcló con un sentimiento de duda. Un paso hacia adelante, la llevaría a un mundo que le parecía desconocido, y quizá repleto de peligros y desafíos. Un paso atrás, la regresaría a la seguridad de lo conocido y la aparente tranquilidad de su hogar. Apretó los dientes y respiró profundo. Cerró los ojos por un momento, concentrándose en su intuición. Y cuando los abrió de nuevo, su decisión estaba tomada.
La primera impresión que me causa la vista de la imagen que nos presenta la convocatoria A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, se me parece mucho a esa sensación que debe significar viajar entre dimensiones. Y pensando precisamente en mis propias experiencias personales de viaje astral, las cuales han significado verdaderos momentos de angustia, se me ocurrió el presente relato. Aunque en varias oportunidades pude experimentar esa extraña sensación de estar en otra dimensión, el temor evitó que me atreviera a ir más allá. Por ello, la valentía del personaje de este breve relato. Invito a ser parte de esta iniciativa, a los amigos de Hive @lisfabian.

Muy interesante tu relato de, como llamarlo (no sé si ya existe un término de para este tipo), "fantasía astral", pues no es de ciencia ficción, pero sí de carácter fantástico. Me gustó ese final. Saludos, @fragozar01.
Se habla de viajes astrales o experiencias extra corporea, pero sin una base cientifica solida. Hay que sentirlo y vivirlo para entender que es algo real. Agradecido del honor por su amable vivita mi estimado. Saludos.
Hola amigo. Me refería no a la experiencia (que ya existirá para ciertas personas), sino al tipo de texto, si es que existe una denominación. Por eso indiqué de podía llamarse "relato de fantasía astral".
