It was a weekend, and my parents announced that we would be selling off our old belongings, including toys, comic books, and even our stuffed teddy bear. According to them, we had outgrown these items, and they were taking up too much space. After the announcement on Friday, my siblings and I began packing up our old stuff. However, I wasn't willing to part with any of these cherished items, so I started thinking of ways to keep them.
At first, I considered hiding some of my precious items, but that didn't sit well with me. Then, a better idea struck me. While my siblings were organizing their belongings, I pretended to do the same, all the while secretly planning my next move. Unbeknownst to them, I had a backup plan.
Finally, Saturday arrived, and it was time to sell our items. Feeling anxious, I took my belongings out for display and marketing. I'm sure many of you are curious about how I managed to keep my items from being sold. Well, here's the irony: I did sell them, but not really. Attached to each toy was a small piece of paper with a note that read: "Please don't buy this item. I'm not ready to sell it. Kindly drop the item in the box outside the compound, and take your money back from the same box."
That's how I pulled off the ultimate trick. What a day it was! I successfully outsmarted my parents and kept my beloved items. Now, I know some of you might be thinking that this was a clever move, while others might see it as a bit deceitful. Either way, it's an interesting tale of false advertising, Nigerian-style.
