Novel- Just for You

Part 5

It was raining heavily. There were clouds in the sky, there was an unfamiliar smell in the air, of wet earth, of soft love. A light storm had been brewing since noon, now all around was the sound of rain and the cries of birds seeking shelter.

Tanya was sitting by the window. Holding the raindrops in her palm, she was wondering, where is Rahat now? She hadn't been getting any peace since they met at the fair. It felt like someone had taken over all her thoughts. As the rain increased, a strange soft smile appeared in the corners of Tanya's eyes. This rain was somehow different today, she thought to herself. Maybe Rahat's name was written somewhere in this stream of rain.

On the other hand, Rahat was also getting wet in the same rain in his yard. He was standing under an umbrella, but inside he was as restless as a storm. He had a small notebook in his hand, the diary, where he wrote down his thoughts. Today he wrote there, Rain means you. Every drop means your smile, every thunder means my heart pounding. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Rahat's younger sister Rima entered. A mischievous smile on her face, she said, "Dada, whose name are you writing in your notebook?" Rahat laughed, "You don't understand, you little crazy person." Rima jokingly said, "You're not in love with anyone, are you?" He just kept quiet and lowered his head. Rima understood that something was up.

The rain stopped in the afternoon. Everything was wet, but the smell of nature gave him new life. Rahat thought, let's walk a little by the river. Maybe it would calm his mind. As soon as he stood by the river bank, he saw Tania. She was getting wet without an umbrella, her hair was wet on her shoulders. Rahat stopped. This scene was like a dream. Tania looked at her, and smiled for a moment. The rain seemed to stop with that smile. Rahat slowly walked forward, umbrella in hand. He said, "Why are you wet? You must be cold." Tanya said softly, "Sometimes I want to get wet."

Rahat held the umbrella over her head. Despite the distance between the two, a strange silent love touched the air. Tanya said in a low voice, "Are you always like this? Quietly?" Rahat smiled and replied, "No, only in front of you."

The raindrops started falling again. Tanya said, "Come on, let's go back." Rahat nodded and started walking beside her. Their shadows were falling side by side on the way, as if two stories were slowly becoming one.

That night, rain fell again in the sky. But that rain was a symbol of the union of two hearts this time. They did not know what the future would bring, but today's moment was telling them that this love was not an ordinary love. It was a promise, every letter of which was written only for you.
