Predicament
My cat’s incursions will kill me one day.
He doesn’t seem to measure danger or fear.
I ask him what he’s up to; he doesn’t say.
I think I will get him some climbing gear.
It’d be great if he could find his way down
or if he tried his feats at a later time.
I’m sure you don’t want to see my wife’s frown .
What kind of cat picks 3:00 AM to climb?
The screeching nails against glass as background.
This has been going on for a while now.
Who can rest at night with that kind of sound?
We have to end it, but we don’t know how.
Broken windows pose an invitation
to warmer sleep or painful castration.
