It’s over. The demons are gone.
You’re back home.
The sky is no longer your roof. The hard floor or the rusty metal does not longer pierce your burnt back.
You do not have to beg any more.
Your sanity is back and so is your dignity.
You don’t have to expose yourself to the indignant gaze of passersby.
Your friends have not deserted you.
They’re here, solemnly guarding your rest.
It was true! Our only friends had not gone, but neither had the demons.
They’re still here.

Yes. It was inspired by the picture. This is a new couple of homeless I see every day. I started to wonder what it might feel like to hit that kind of bottom.
The dogs have faithfully accompanied them. They're always sleeping together. Day and night
