We can define worry as that feeling of uneasiness or fear about an event that has not happened, feeling fear about the outcome of something that may come that we presume may be bad for us.

If we think about this definition, worries are based on events that have not happened and that we do not know if they will actually happen. We often worry about things, events or facts that we do not have the power to change, this generates a lot of stress because we can do nothing to change the outcome of a particular situation.

Worry generates stress, stress generates anxiety and anxiety can trigger depression, and we already know the fatal consequences of depression, including suicide.

Many of our worries are associated with our needs for food, clothing or health and cause us to end up distressed, especially when meeting these needs involve an investment that for some becomes unattainable.

The Lord Jesus addressed this issue when He said:

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air, which neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they?

Matthew 6:27 And which of you, however anxious he may be, can add one hour to the course of his life?

Matthew 6:28 And why do you worry about clothes? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they neither toil nor spin;

Matthew 6:29 But I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.

Matthew 6:30 And if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?" or, "What shall we drink?" or, "What shall we wear?"

Matthew 6:32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Faith in God and his promises can make the difference between death and life, the confidence that his promises can generate helps us to avoid worrying excessively about facts, events and situations over which we have no control and which in turn cause us to lose control of our lives.

So I insist, do not worry, there are things over which you can do nothing, and over which you have some control do not worry in advance, wait your time and act to solve, do not waste time worrying about situations that you can solve later and less for situations that exceed your ability to respond. Trust in the Lord is the key to this matter.
