We were so close to winning

There were days of zero cases of Covid19 in Malaysia and everyone were happy and glad. BUT, suddenly everyone was too happy to the verge of celebrating. Celebrating a victory yet to achieve.

The moment government announced that businesses and shops and malls could operate as usual BUT must follow the Standard Operating Procedure, everyone, literally felt like just being released from the prison. They felt the immense freedom. Until they also forgot to wear mask because it was no longer a rule to wear mask.

But citizen's mentality did not tally. They forgot about social distancing. The malls started to be packed with people. Gatherings, chitchatting. Because we missed one another badly.

Of course, for those businesses that had been closed down, wouldn't be opened again. But people were happy they no longer needed to close their shops and let them rot. Businesses are alive. People are alive. Schools reopened. Tuition centres no longer close.

"The number of Covid19 cases shooting up in these few days were alarming," said the government. "Do not take it lightly. Go out only if necessary and follow SOP!!!" advice by government. Then, government had just made it a law of compulsory wearing a mask when out and about on 1st August onwards, fail to do so we will be fined. It is for the good of all.
