Rooster Call🐓

in Freewriters3 years ago

It used to be rooster call and then we would get up. Probably around 5am or 6am. Yes, that early. Sorry, not us, but my mum. She would wake up to sweep and mop the house, clean all the plates and cups, change all water to new water. We would probably be up at 6am. Then, she prepared us breakfast. Dad and mom would be reading newspaper over the fragrant coffee smell. The children, my sister and I would be eating our breakfast with hot chocolate milk. Then, we headed off to school, still there would be some rooster making noises on the street. We walked to school. We love the scent of fresh air with chlorophyll. We love the cool breeze of air smashing our faces as we walked.

Now, rooster call would be just another noise in the hustle bustle of city. Oh, wait. I haven't been noticing any rooster around here. When I taught the children about rooster, I needed to show the photo from phone.

Alarm clock from phone is the common now. We don't even use the alarm clock in the form of table clock anymore. Everything is in the phone. Everyone wakes up. Reading news from the phone. Some browsing newsfeed from social media. Some looking at crypto chart. Hive. Everyone is busy working via phone but to one another. There is not much interaction face to face. Or maybe yes, but rarely.

A rooster call signifies the new day has arrived. We are to be up and about diligent and work from the heart. But wait, nowadays, perhaps for some poeple, when there is a rooster call, it is time for them to sleep. He he...

Life has changed a lot. I know you will agree with me. I still miss those days when phone doesn't exist. But I am sure I can't live without a phone now. What an irony of life. I still wonder, how do people in the old days lived a quiet, slow-paced life yet they could manage to survive. Technology advancement supposed to help hs achieve more, but we end up needing to do more to achieve more. And then do more more, to achieve more more. Not sure am I making sense to you. I am just let my thoughts freely flow out. I miss slow-paced life.

Not easy to find a real rooster in the city that will give you the real wake-up call.
And when you do, there would be days that you wish the rooster would just keep quiet and leave it be.

Yes, have never seen one before. Can you believe it? I set my alarm clock with the rooster crow. Haha. Those time when I stay at village when visiting grandparents, woke up my rooster call, kind of miss those childhood. But yes, if it is a day off, the rooster better keep quiet. 😊
