Una de las cosas que quizás a algunos no nos gustaba de lo que fueron algunas actividades del colegio eran las dichosas “exposiciones” pues en mi caso, al menos, siempre veía esto como en parte una perdida de tiempo, ya que algunas veces más era el tiempo que se “perdía” de cierta manera y poco lo que quizás enseñaban en estas contra lo que pudiera ser un parcial normal escrito.
Quizás en parte esto se deba a que yo soy alguien que le gusta más leer las cosas y analizarlas, que tener una larga y tediosa exposición, que muchas veces puede ser una especie de charla unilateral y no algo con idas y venidas o interacción con los demás, pues dependiendo del tema y de las materias estas “charlas” podían ser demasiado extensas..
Y recuerdo claro una de las veces en las que quisieron experimentar con un nuevo concepto en clases en las que debíamos, por ejemplo durante se “corte” que era por así decir una parte del año, realizar exposiciones en inglés sobre un tema de otra materia, por ejemplo, biología, ciencias, etc, solo que esta materia iría cambiando de acuerdo al corte y como no a la disposición de los profesores de ambas materias.
Ya que en mi colegio se veía de manera obligatoria el inglés e italiano como idiomas secundarios, por lo que podrían ser exposiciones en un idioma u otro de acuerdo a lo que se establecería en estos cortes, y una de esas veces que me tocó recuerdo que yo suplicaba que fuera cualquier materia menos biología, pues para mí ese poco de términos “científicos”, eran un tema y que sus nombres si de plano algunas veces eran confusos en español se podrán imaginar en otro idioma.
Llegado el momento, quisieron que nosotros eligiéramos entre ciencias y biología, ganando esta última, ya que para algunos compañeros la profesora de biología era más “pana” que la de ciencias, por lo que la “tarea” de exponer sería “pan comido”, cosa más lejana de lo que creían, pues, al menos en mi caso me toco hablar de las partes de las plantas (que era lo que se veía en aquel entonces).
Y recuerdo que entre tanto término había uno que era muy particular que era “epicalyx” el cual junto a otros nombres científicos fue un tema para explicar todo aquello, al menos y gracias a Dios, en inglés me defendía un poco más que en italiano para aquellas épocas y pude exponer, pero sí que, al momento de leer estas palabras tan técnicas, tuve que apoyarme de la lámina para hacerlo, pues me costaba un poco para lo que eran mis 11/10 años de aquel entonces.

One of the things that perhaps some of us did not like about some of the school activities were the so-called "expositions" because in my case, at least, I always saw this as partly a waste of time, since sometimes it was more the time that was "wasted" in a certain way and little of what was perhaps taught in these against what could be a normal written partial.
Perhaps in part this is because I am someone who likes to read things and analyze them, rather than having a long and tedious exposition, which often can be a kind of one-sided talk and not something with back and forth or interaction with others, because depending on the subject and the subjects these "talks" could be too long...
And I clearly remember one of the times when they wanted to experiment with a new concept in classes in which we had to, for example during a "cut" that was so to speak a part of the year, make presentations in English on a topic of another subject, for example, biology, science, etc., only that this subject would change according to the cut and of course to the disposition of the teachers of both subjects.
In my school English and Italian were compulsory as secondary languages, so they could be expositions in one language or another according to what would be established in these cuts, and one of those times I remember that I begged to be any subject but biology, because for me that little "scientific" terms were a subject and their names were sometimes confusing in Spanish, you can imagine them in another language.
When the time came, they wanted us to choose between science and biology, winning the latter, since for some classmates the biology teacher was more "pana" than the science teacher, so the "task" of exposing would be "a piece of cake", which was farther from what they thought, because, at least in my case I had to talk about the parts of the plants (which was what was seen at that time).
And I remember that among so many terms there was one that was very particular which was "epicalyx" which along with other scientific names was a topic to explain all that, at least and thank God, in English I could defend myself a little more than in Italian for those times and I could expose, but yes, at the time of reading these words so technical, I had to rely on the sheet to do it, because it was a little difficult for what my 11/10 years were at that time.
