I see the passing of my life in an hourglass,
the grains fall slowly, like a whisper, without sorrow.
Each moment is an echo, a travelling sigh,
smiles that appear, secrets of the whole time.
Moments of sadness, shadows that glide by,
where the soul feels still and unhurried.
Memories that linger, fragments of pain,
but there is also laughter, and the sparkle of love.
I see how time was both executioner and teacher,
stripping my days bare, leaving its weight behind.
In its hands I hold dreams, forgotten desires,
paths already traced, intertwined destinies.
I learned to dance with the shadows of yesterday,
and to tenderly embrace what I must let be.
I see time running in an hourglass.
