I am the type who worries a lot over a small thing. Now, imagine when the condition is overwhelming!! But there is something I have discovered recently - over thinking isn't worth it all the time. Yes, you heard me right. Let me explain why.

Overthinking won't solve the problem. It is a phrase we have all heard before, but have we ever really stopped to think about what it means? In our world today, it is easy to get caught up in our own thoughts and get stuck in a cycle of overanalyzing every little detail. But the truth is, overthinking rarely leads to the solution. In fact, it often just makes things worse.

When we overthink, we become consumed by our thoughts and emotions, which can cloud our judgement and prevent us from seeing things clearly or the way we are supposed to. We obsess over every possible outcome, replaying scenarios in our minds over and over again. But the reality is, the more we think about a problem, the bigger and more insurmountable it can seem.

Overthinking often stems from a fear of making the wrong decision or a desire for control. We convince ourselves that if we just think about something long enough, we'll be able to come up with the perfect solution. But the truth is, there is no perfect solution. Life is messy and unpredictable, and we must know that. Sometimes we just have to trust our instincts and go with the flow.

Overthinking can also lead to a phenomenon known as analysis paralysis. And what exactly does this mean? This is when we get so caught up in analysing every possible option that we end up unable to make a decision at all. We become stuck or hooked up in a state of indecision, afraid to take any action for fear of making the wrong choice. But as the saying goes, "Indecision is the thief of opportunity."

So, how can we break free from the cycle of overthinking? A very important step is learning to recognize when we are doing it. Well, I guess that won't be so easy though. Pay attention to your thoughts and emotions, and notice when they are out of control. Take a moment and step back and try to gain some perspective. Ask yourself if the situation really warrants all this mental energy, or if you might be blowing things out of proportion.

Another helpful thing we can do is to practise mindfulness. This involves being present in the moment and focusing on the here and now, rather than getting lost in our thoughts. By grounding ourselves in reality, we can control our minds from wandering off into the realm of overthinking.

It is also important to remember that it's okay to make mistakes. Nobody is Mr perfect, and sometimes the best way to learn and grow is through trial and error. Instead of striving for perfection, strive for progress, One thing I have learnt so far. Take action, make decisions, and learn from the outcomes. You may be surprised at how much you can accomplish when you simply trust yourself and take that leap of faith.

So to round off, overthinking won't always be the best option to solve our problem. It only serves to complicate matters and hold us back from taking action. And anytime you catch yourself getting lost in a whirlwind of thoughts, remember to step back, breathe, and trust that everything will work out in the end. Embrace the uncertainty of life and have faith in your ability to handle whatever comes your way. Because in the end, it's not the amount of time spent thinking that matters, but the courage to take action.
