Slowly getting into the habit of writing short and fast.
Behind lies a thousand drafts.
Of life lived
Rubbish collected and put into collections
To be dusted and flown into some sort of form - an internetform.
So let's go
I have started learning Chinese. I have started finishing a novel I wrote and finished about 45% - 20 years ago. Writing calligraphy from old poets like 王維 and 李清照 - reading, reading - consulting online Chinese dictionaries. Doing cardio in shorts with a brown, British and very enthusiastic lady on youtube.
And walking. Walking .
I have a friend who does Chinese translation and she lived there for a while. It seems like something you have to immerse yourself in.
The sad thing is that we in general know so little and that it is a civilisation that is as large and old as ours. So immersion is necessary at least for a while... but I also think a lot about how we can build bridges.
Another friend just went, but he has Chinese ancestry, via Malaysia.
Learning Chinese! Calligraphy! Shorts!
Excellent photograph. It has sped up my heart.
Nice to see you again.
