Woman:
In the depths of my pain,
I am consumed by sorrow,
And the loneliness drives me insane,
As if there's no tomorrow.
Devil:
Oh, dear woman, why suffer so?
Why bear the pain when I can offer
A life without a single woe?
All it takes is your soul to proffer.
Woman:
The pain is a part of me,
It runs deep within my veins,
And though it's hard to see,
It's a reminder of my gains.
Devil:
Your gains? I see no benefit
In suffering such torment and strife.
Come with me and I'll permit
A life free of pain and forever life.
Woman:
But my pain is not for naught,
It makes me who I am,
And though it's hard, I have fought
To stand firm and withstand.
Devil:
But why not escape it all?
Why not give in and be free?
Come with me and let pain fall,
And soon you'll see.
Woman:
No, dear devil, I'll stay true,
And walk this path I've been given,
For within my pain, I'll find anew,
Strength and resilience that will never be driven.
So though the pain may overwhelm,
And the loneliness may drown,
I'll remain steadfast at the helm,
And not let my soul be bound.
