"Wait...what?!! How did that, did she? Is that right?" a lot of questions filled my mind as I read the conclusion part of the mystery novel that I was reading. It was about a locked-room murder case. It was just reminiscent of my days reading the good old Sherlock Holmes novels and stories.
The story was good but the revelations were so shocking. I couldn't really help myself but keep on turning the page after page of the book. I didn't even realize that I was nearing the end of the story.
It was fun, not about the murder part, it was fun thinking logically and trying to guess what happened and who did what at the beginning of the story. But as the author reveals the truths and how everything went down, you just can't help but be amazed while your mouth is wide open. It was just really shocking and entertaining.
I don't have a plan to let go of the book without finishing the whole thing but I was forced to stand up when I smelled something burning. I jumped out to my feet and rushed outside my room and into the kitchen.
Damn this book, I totally forgot that I was cooking rice before I decided to continue reading it. This page-turner of a book nearly burned my house down.
This has been a freewriting exercise I have written using the prompt: "page-turner". Visit here https://hive.blog/hive-161155/@mariannewest/day-1657-5-minute-freewrite-friday-prompt-page-turner for details. The timer was set to 5 minutes and this was what I came up with from the prompt and with the 5 minutes allotted. I enjoyed the prompt and it was really effective in enticing the mind to think and be creative.
