The Very Slow Tractor (Story)

in Freewriters5 years ago

“Can’t you get a move on?”

The reality is, that it is a tractor. It can’t get a move on because it is a tractor. It can’t go any faster. It is a tractor.

“I can’t go any faster,” thought the tractor driver. “It is a tractor.”

“Can’t you go any faster?” thought the man in the car behind the tractor.

“Can’t you go any faster?” thought the man in the car behind the car behind the tractor.

“This tractor is slowing us all down,” thought the lady behind the car behind the other car which is behind the tractor.

What is the next move? Should they honk their horns?

It is a single lane road which goes from one town to another. There’s only one way to get from A to B, and sometimes, that involves driving behind a very slow tractor.

Nobody honks their horn at this time, but there is a lot of temptation.

But the man in the tractor is a very nice man. He was so nice, he was able to very briefly pull to the side and let some cars overtake him.

“That should keep their thoughts quiet,” thought the man in the tractor. “Honestly, they’re so impatient.”

When the road was clear again, the tractor continued on his journey.

The road was clear at first, but eventually, there would be some more cars behind his tail.

“I’m behind the tractor,” thought the man in the car behind the tractor. “That’s ok. That’s the nature of the beast. It’s nice to be surrounded by glorious fresh air.”

The tractor driver smiled to himself.

“It’s nice to have a patient driver behind me,” he thought. “Someone who can appreciate the beauty of this glorious county.”

However, the man behind the car behind the tractor honked his horn.

“I don’t need to read his mind to realise that he’s annoyed,” thought the tractor driver.

“I’m not annoyed,” thought the man who honked his horn. “I honked it by accident. Take your time.”

“Oh, you can read my mind?” thought the tractor driver.

“Yes, I can. Please, take your time, my friend.”

But the driver was so nice, that when he had an opportunity, he pulled his car to the side again, to let the cars pass.

Loved your story. I have been stuck behind equipment being move. I think it is a good time to relax and enjoy my surroundings. Never accidentally honked my horn, thank goodness.

Thank you. It was nice to base a story on my home county, Devon, UK. Such a beautiful place.

Ha Ha, loved this , well done :)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really loved how it turned out
