I have more grandsons than granddaughters, there are 6 boys and 2 girls. They range in age from 30 to 2 years old. The one in the photo is the last boy.
One of the best feelings is when you visit your grandchildren and they run toward you with their arms in the air and a big smile on their face.
This only lasts until they are around the teen years, you will still get a big hug and a smile and be happy to see you but the running with arms reached out no longer happens. That is a special feeling.
The last boy is such a joy
when you walk in the door
your eyes meet
don't think of having a seat
Running as fast as he can
watch out, here comes the little man
his arms held high
knowing he is much too heavy
you lift him anyway
I set him on my hip
his arms around my neck
I gave him a kiss,
he gives me a lick
With one twirl the laughter starts, it
lifts your heart but you have to sit
as soon as you are down
he takes off and rolls on the ground
He is the last boy and growing fast
you know times like these will not last
