Why is it so difficult to control our emotions?

in Freewriters3 years ago (edited)

According to the most recent studies in this regard, the human being has the capacity to feel 27 different emotions, which are the following: admiration, adoration, aesthetic appreciation, fun, anxiety, amazement, discomfort, boredom, calm, confusion, longing, aversion, pain empathic, rapture, envy, emotion, fear, horror, interest, joy, nostalgia, romance, sadness, satisfaction, sexual desire, sympathy and triumph, this information was obtained with a brief search in google, however, although we have the ability to feel them this does not mean that we are capable of handling them and that is where it becomes imperative to have what we call emotional intelligence, which is really very rare, it seems incredible but the vast majority of people do not have a developed emotional intelligence.

Our emotions are difficult to handle largely because we are reactive people and when we react to an emotion we begin to act based on how that makes us feel, doing and saying things that we can later regret, that little instant between when the emotion occurs and when we act on it, it is there in that precise moment where our emotional intelligence is reflected.

The aforementioned also reveals the lack of empathy that exists today throughout the world, there are very few empathic people, once a few years ago I saw an old woman fall while leaving the subway and people did not help her, they only jumped over her because they were in a hurry and it was rush hour, after a moment the old woman got up by herself, all that happened on the other side of the line where I was, but that really surprised me.

Another critical issue is the management of emotions in our lives in couples, two people with things in common and with other things that are not common between them, living together, with the stress of work, menstrual cycles, and many other things influence the way in which we react to the situations we face on a day-to-day basis and sometimes it becomes difficult to act kindly.

But what can we do about it? We cannot change anyone, we must take care to improve ourselves as people, learn to manage our emotions, knowing ourselves more deeply in order to increase our level of tolerance and self-awareness and understand that the behavior of other people is mainly due to emotions that they experience at a given moment and not what they really are inside when they are not influenced by their emotions, learn to love roses but also understand that they have thorns.

Understand that we must be kind and tolerant towards others, respecting ourselves and not allowing them to mistreat us and thus deal with these things in a process that is kind to others, since in order to contend, both need to want to contend and if only one reacts in aggressively he or she will be left alone in his or her fight and we will end the conflict.

If we don't let the behavior of others take away our peace, we can already say that we are victors.
