And, just like that... I've got more HP than I've ever had.
I had promised myself two years ago that if HIVE ever hit 10 cents again, I'd empty my HBD savings and jump hard at the chance to bulk up. To that end, even when I powered down my account to attempt to deal with some debt in 2024 (fruitlessly, thanks economy!), I still retained 1k HBD. Over time, that grew to about 1200 HBD which was just patiently waiting for an event like this.
I managed to directly swap about 200 HBD into about 2k HIVE four or so days ago which I mentioned here, but was waiting on a conversion request for the remaining 1k swap.
That finally completed last night at about 10pm my time, and I immediately powered it up. Which puts me at a grand total of 16,941.7 HP.
Prior to powering down in 2024, I had hit an all-time high of 10,984 HP.
At the start of this year in January, I had 1,862 HP. My goal that I'd set myself then was to double that, and I had a secondary "crushed it" goal of tripling my January HP by December, which would have been 5,800 or so. Well, I obliterated those goals this year thanks to this abysmal crypto market.
Which just goes to show that one person's loss is another person's gain. I couldn't have possibly done this had the crypto market not decided to implode over the last week or two. This is fire-sale prices and I'm super thankful that I've been able to take advantage of them.
I admit, I did plan for this and I'm very glad I set myself up for exactly this scenario. It does mean that I need to restart my HBD savings from 0 now, but that's a wonderful problem to have since I know HIVE will return to at least 25c, if not 40-50c over the course of the next year.
I hope in this downturn, you've also been able to take advantage of fantastic prices.

From this point onwards, it is a wait-and-watch game.
