Waking Up Without An Alarm. The Circadian Rhythm.

There are people that always need an alarm to be able to get up early to go to work or school or anywhere but some people don't even have alarm clocks in their rooms, and never use or even care to open the alarm app on their phone. They're able to wake up whenever they choose to and strangely their body responds, understands that this is the time to wake up and they wake up.

For those that can't do this, you can also wake up without an alarm clock but you have to condition your body to keep to a regular schedule. The term for this body discipline to wake up at a particular time is Circadian Rhythm.

The circadian rhythm is an internal clock in your body. It controls your state of being fatigued and alert. Once you are able to establish this rhythm properly, you won't be waking up late anymore, even when you sleep late, your body would know when to wake up on its own.

To do this, it would require your consistency. Consistency in the following task.

You need to get your bedtime and wake up time for everyday even on weekends too. When you do this, it develops a pattern in which your body overtime becomes accustomed to. Choose a wake up morning time and try to stick to it. You would need to determine that right before going to sleep. Tell your own mind that you are going to wake up at a particular time. This mere trick of saying it to yourself, will give an effective signal to your brain on what you want.

A major factor to controlling sleep and wake up time are the things you do in the evening before sleeping, they count. Deep sleep is going to get messed up by caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and screens, that is using your phone right before you go to bed. At least two hours before sleeping, avoid all of them. Use that time to relax yourself and the body. You can attempt some reading, stretching or the slow breathing which takes your mind off of things that could keep it active. It's a good relaxing routine to get your brain into deep sleep. That'll make sure you're well rested and still wake up at the time you've set for yourself.

The light in your bedroom can regulate your sleeping hormones. So turn your room dark at night but keep the windows open so your your room can light up in the morning. Natural light from the sun brings down the melatonin, which is the hormone that makes you feel sleepy and raise cortisol, which helps you to wake up.

When you wake up get out of bed immediately. Remaining in the covers disorientates your body and messes with the habit you're trying to form. By getting up quickly, you're informing your brain that this is the time to be active.

During the initial days, you could either wake up earlier or later than you anticipated. It won't work immediately but you need to stay consistent. It is by repetition that your body adapts. In a matter of one or two weeks, you will realize that you will be waking up around the time you have set for yourself. This becomes automatic as time goes by. You will be more awake in the morning and will sleep quicker at night.

Research indicates that regular sleepers claim to have increased concentration, enhanced immunity and increased energy throughout the day so this is a good habit to form. You do not need an alarm when your sleeping schedule is in line with your rhythm.

The process of training to naturally wake up is a simple system. The body knows how to wake up when it is relaxed.
