When I was a kid, my favourite Bible story was the one that Peter and John went to the temple to worship. There, they met a lame man sitting at the beautiful gate. The man looked up to them, expecting to receive a gift. Then Peter said to him, “Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Immediately, his feet and ankles received strength. He leapt up, stood on his own, and began to walk. He followed them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
Each time my Sunday school teacher or pastor told this story, I would listen keenly, and my little mind would wonder how good that man must have felt on receiving such an unexpected miracle.
