Back in my junior secondary days, mathematics was one subject that always gave me a tough time. I used to get distracted easily during lessons, and most times, I didn’t pay full attention when the teacher was explaining. Because of that, I often ended up using the wrong formula in my calculations, which made me fail several times.
One day, I got tired of seeing red marks on my script. I told myself that I needed to change. So I decided to focus more in class, leave aside every distraction, and listen carefully to the teacher’s explanations. The next time we had a math test, I applied what I had learned with full attention. To my surprise, I got the answer right! That day taught me that paying attention truly makes a big difference.
