Break

in Freewriters6 months ago

On the back of ibuprofen, I've been able to finish the workday with some difficulty. However, starting tomorrow, I'm on Easter break.
I'm leaving the team working until Thursday—not all of them, but most of them—with tasks to review myself next Tuesday.
I hope they do it well... and if not, it doesn't matter; we'll fix it later if necessary.

You have to take certain breaks from time to time.
Delegating is mandatory in my position, but it's not always easy to do.
There are always small risks in the short term, but in the long term, it's good for me and the company, no doubt about it.
I don't have anything special to do during these holidays; we haven't planned anything due to the workload I've seen for weeks... idiot me.

We'll probably go to the beach, we'll probably visit Sitges on Friday, where we've reserved a table on a sunny terrace, and some nature outings are our short-term plans... that is, as long as this shitty FLU allows it, and, of course, the weather too, since rain is forecast for the coming days.

The important thing is to do nothing, or rather, do whatever the hell I want... if they let me... because I also have children and obligations outside of work (LoL)... In any case, break the routine and get away from the usual environment.

Maybe I'll use some of my time to finish my tax return. I still have to record some investments, dividends, and sales I made during 2024, and although I have it pretty much under control, this task also takes up quite a bit of my time. But it's worth it because, according to my calculations, I should get a lot of money back. I mean, I paid more than I should, and now I have to recover it, as if it were an unexpected gift... bastards.
They should return it with interest, don't you think?
It's money I haven't been able to enjoy or get a return on. On the other hand, the state has been able to do so. Am I right?

In any case, I'm free, or so I think, from thinking about work problems, which is a plus, even if I still have the flu...

Get well soon and enjoy a bit of a break. A good rest and catching up on stuff instead of tackling all the holiday crowds sounds smart to me.

you can't get "job skip" if sick? at least have some rest

After working too much, my health deteriorates and it is not easy to manage a team.

how many members are there in your team?
I wish you best of luck for the rest time.
