A mysterious "disease" had been spreading in the town of Moca since a meteorite fell on a nearby forest. Likewise unusual were the symptoms of such "disease." The initial indication of the disease was that everyone afflicted felt intense pain throughout their bodies, as if they were being torn apart, and began hearing the emotionless, almost robotic voice of a woman.

Those who had gotten the "disease" reported hearing the woman's disembodied voice say things like "system," "initializing," "installing," and "percent." Furthermore, after a few days, they would hear the voice declare "system installation complete" and see a bluish, translucent box containing words and number values like strength, vitality, agility, stamina, and mana. This board is known as the "Status Window" among the afflicted. This was the second symptom. It's also the point at which the terrible pain will fade.

When the infected "recovered," they would see extraordinary changes in their bodies, such as their bodies being much stronger, their motions becoming faster, and some even obtaining powerful and strange skills. Seeing all of this effect, one could argue that the diseased has evolved. As a result, most Moca inhabitants and visitors did not dread the sickness, but rather desired to become affected as well.

Of course, there were many who feared the disease as well. The reason for this was that the so-called "evolution" appeared to be forced and unnatural. They were also concerned that the so-called "evolution" might serve a goal other than the betterment of humanity. This was especially true given that people who caught the sickness claimed to hear a woman's voice. Furthermore, this woman was employing terminology they had never heard before.

Was the "disease a blessing from God? Or was it a curse by the devil? For now, no one seemed to be able to answer these questions but one thing was certain: The world will soon experience a massive change that could shift the balance of power.

This was quite a wonderful short story to read. I don't know if it's stereotype but I'm quite wary of anything that wants to shift from what is the norm of the human body. There's only bound to be problems eventually. A complete take over where humans lose the power to be "humans" and become devoid of emotions. Empty. Robotic.

Ahhh! This seems like some robotic takeover... and I may be one of those people who'd want to be infected because of the super strength! Lol.
