Well, happy Veterans Day and thank you to all you vets for your service.
I had an interesting experience this week and I want to share this with you and this is an invitation to join me for a longer discussion of this on my podcast and I just want to share this with you because it's it was pretty alarming actually. I was doing some research on demographics having to do with the election and Google refused my keyword search. They said it was too offensive.
I have no idea what would be offensive about it. It was very straightforward. There was no sexual content. There was no racial epithets. It was just simply some demographic questions that I wanted to do some research having to do with last week's election.
The other thing was that I went to a Reddit forum and a lot of creators discussing how objectionable Google censorship is. But it makes it very difficult. You can't really do research on a lot of subjects unless Google approves of the subject. Disturbing. So they said that they were going increasingly over to chat GPT. So I went there and chat GPT also placed a moral judgment on my query said that it was potentially offensive. I needed to be aware that this question was potentially offensive.
I just I'm just doing demographic research. This is really weird to me. But I wanted to read something else to you that I thought was more interesting. Not only is chat GPT and artificial intelligence now creating moral judgments on humans, but it apparently is self-aware because, and I quote, "I can help you find neutral and effective keywords for research, writing, and advertising purposes. Clarify what you're looking for." I find that to be really intriguing that we've crossed or started to cross the line of artificial general intelligence where the computer believes that it has the wherewithal and the authority to pass moral judgments on human beings because it's self-aware.
Think about that.
