Meeting the devil

The devil, the one you call the devil, I would love to meet him.

Does the devil exist? It sounds to me like he's an invention of religion. All those old not accepted gods with their looks are a mix of how the devil looks like and with that all culture, folklore, heritage, history is labelled as pagan, trash, a lie. Soon those who still go for what once was are called dissidents and therorists. Who's next? Of course Christianity since nothing will last forever. They popped up on a certain day travelled the earth and spread the word (the word and diseases) and after them, there was split after split. No Muslims will be safe either. Religion is on her way back but for now, the witch hunt is put at a halt. QR, footprint first and the rest will follow once they arrive in the promising land.
Happiness? It's what you make out of your life. Religion? It survived the ages although shaped differently. If it comes to it it's the same: the average human needs something to believe in. There's no life without hope, the idea there's some power dealing the cards.
Trust is a different story. We pray and sacrifice, make compromises because we do not believe in reality. If that were the case we would laugh and feel happy and admit that the devil doesn't exist. He's the one we blame because it's the easiest thing to do.

The devil didn't make you do it, it was you!
I know because those you call the devil and by different names stand closer to nature and life, never started a fight or war and didn't lie. So if he is the devil who are you?
