Own Goal

I don't like sport. The reason is that it is rarely good-spirited, apart from the fact that it can also cause significant damage to the body. The most unsportsmanlike sport is top-level professional sport. Ridiculously high sums are paid to recruit a footballer, for example. While the players are on the pitch, doing what they do or what they want, the coach gets punished if the team doesn't win. The play-acting on the pitch, lying there writhing pathetically until the referee sees the person in question, I find deceitful and downright melodramatic.

And what about the supporters who tear down entire stadiums, set them on fire, wreck cities and vandalise trains, and then afterwards come to blows with each other? The own goal is another thing that doesn't end well for every player. Just imagine making that mistake and then being shot dead by a hired assassin while they shout: 'Goal, goal, goal!'. And then they still say that adults know better. When I see all of this, the misery that sport brings with it, then as far as I'm concerned, it can be abolished immediately.

Nowadays, football is quite corrupt. Bookmakers buy off some teams, and some players even accept bribes. The bookmakers win, and those who bet have the worst experience. They analyze the game, dedicate time and effort to ensure their bets have at least an 80% chance of winning, and then they hear that teams and players are receiving money from the bookmakers. So much corruption is disgusting, but very real.

Wow, that also is part of what they call a sportive give? It doesn't make sport more sportive same for drugs and getting bribed to lose the game. I wonder how many are willing to join if they only receive travel expenses for public transport.
