Day 1214: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: in moments of stress

A lifetime of trauma preceded her need to delegate sanity in the midst of her frameless reasoning once her fight or flight response was engaged.

It always amazed her when logic knocked on her door - reminding her that she was merely an observer, a witness. Her eyes were dried from seeing too much and her ears dull from straining to hear the banterings of a mad woman standing before her animated without restraint.

"It will soon end", her logical mind would intercede. Eventually she would stumble off in search of a quiet place in which to rest her thoughts...and her tears.

In moments of stress it was always the stillness and buzzing sound of moving white noise that led her back into her own internal rhythm. Her breath would soon follow...deeper, longer...until her beating heart was lulled into an entrainment of systemic calm.
