The glass halls of the Chambers of Creation glistened in the midday sun. Bright whites turned to yellows and golds as they passed through the stained windows. Senior Creators shuffled around in their heavy robes, the inside of the chambers well ventilated and cooled. Behind large mahogany doors, each emblazoned with a hammer and spyglass, a heated discussion could barely be heard leaking out of the sub chamber.
“Freedom fighters from Gwynffordd have asked for our assistance, I believe that we should consider –” a woman with deep purple eyeshadow, adorned in the heavy robes denoting senior membership of the Creators, spoke clearly without matching her colleague’s raising voices.
“We are meant to be seen as an impartial organisation, Elyssa, providing our support to the rebels will see our funding decimated. And our members from Gwynffordd will be recalled at a moments notice, as well as the members from Gwynffordd’s close allies,” also decidedly calm, the robed figure at the head of the table rebutted Elyssa’s demand.
“Praetor Michaels, I appreciate your concern, but Gwynffordd already benefit from our inventions. Not providing the rebels with support would lead to tacit approval of the state of Gwynffordd. If the rebels do win, they won’t think kindly of us.”
“As if the rebels would defeat the state! Creator Elyssa simply wishes to see her weapons of war wielded against a properly armed enemy, am I not correct?” The loudest of the council spoke up. His beard was well maintained, oiled into an unnatural but artistic shaping.
“Now now, Creator Torne, let’s not assume the worst of our fellow members,” Praetor Michaels moved to quell the raising tensions in the council, hoping to reduce the rapidly raising animosity.
