In Akasa , a strange illness began spreading, the symptoms quack doctors discharged as mere fever, in some scenarios typhoid, but then the drugs didn’t work, the illness kept on getting worse, until the first person died and then more people started dying from this “fever”. The villagers did not know what it was and so they turned to their religion and started making sacrifices to their gods. They called this illness “the Strain.” Soon people affected became delirious and started hearing voices. Fortunately their was a young girl who travelled to the city and reported to the authorities and consequently Dr. Musa was sent, a young virologist sent from the city arrived to investigate, he discovers that all the infected people once worked at an abandoned water treatment plant. As he investigated further, Musa uncovered a conspiracy the, village elders had made with corrupt government officials and foreigners. The elders as such made it their mission to ensure that Musa never makes it out of the village to report. They first tried to bribe Musa with Riches but Musa declined and so they started planning something more sinister. The same girl that went and reported the incident warned Musa of the plot and as such Musa was in a conundrum, to risk it all, report his findings or to save himself and report that his findings was a mere fever affecting the villagers and their was no foul play.
